"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil CavutoJune 2008)
“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.”
Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.”
(Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)
"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)
"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)
The second one is from the Anarkidz Most Retarded Dance Off. I gut it up to some crazy guy screaming and then a bit of the end where a certain lefty blogger says it was lame. I had a bad spot so you really couldn’t see anything. But it was just them trying to test the waters and annoy.
This was some little test run or to test the cops out or something. After this a few people seemed to stroll through and test the waters more by counting us down there and even distract with a red white and blue dyed dog. (poor guy)
Here are some clips of the larger march. These are raw, and language is really bad.
Ah yes, I almost forgot about this little bit between the marches.
That’s just some pre-stragglers. Some press, some plants which may have been (ahem) documenting all us who dared to oppose their point of view. There were a lot of them mixed in the crowd today. No doubt that all our mugs will be strewn about under the nearest homeless hangout or Dave Thune’s place with all his destructive Anatard friends.
And here’s the final part I got. The big puppets didn’t go by us. It was 30+ minutes of profanity and hate.
It was a long day. I did take a swing back thru St. Paul leaving Keegans, but I didn’t see much from the highways, nor thru one trip thru downtown. I did drive by Macy’s and see the broken window. Didn’t see much except for one deranged young lady who decided anyone in a suit needs to be screamed at, so I headed to Eden Prairie. (Which is where I am hanging my hat this week, at my girlfriends place.)
Anyways, I’m working on transferring the video to my lappy, compress it, and then will get it uploaded to RF.I have John Voigt’s speach with the Families United as well as raw footage from the protest march.
But first, I’m taking a shower, because I am offending my own sense of smell..
In the mean time, here’s a photo of my girlfriend and her some with some of the great officers who deserve thanks for their service.
I just received a call from an RF reader who was down by Kellog and wanted to report that tear gas was used on Anarchists. News and radio reports say Delegates may have been involved. One even said they were possibly sprayed with urine and feces.
A group of Anarchists reportedly diverged from the approved route so Police stepped in. Some Delegates and reporters were apparently in Mickey’s Diner when this happened.
A police car is rumored to have been hit. The Strib has photos of some of the events.
I’m down near the Free Speech stage set up by St. Paul Parks & Rec. This is the end point of the protest march. We’re here with Joe Repya’s Victory Over terrorism sign group. There are also 50 + Police officers in case thing get out of hand. Some media folks are also starting to gather.
It could get a little crowded in here so I don’t know if I will be able to liveblog this.
Update: the parade is underway. Police said anarkydz have teargas so they just put on there gas masks. We are basically trapped in this area if shtifg does go down.
Update 2: the future dirty hippies just had there own little best dancing contest. Lots of profanity. Nothing seems to have happened. Although this was just a test. The anarkydz were taking pictures of every one and testing the cops.
The Americas most retarded and dirty dancers are gone. They headed back up the route now.
Update 3: that was just the opening act. We’re told a group of 6000 is on the way now. This one may be more interesting. The police are getting ready.
Don’t try this at home, kids…I’m a trained professional.
I stopped by the anarchist headquarters on Smith St. tonight, with the hope that someone might have found a way around Dave Thune’s patronage, if you catch my drift.
Although there was no law enforcement activity, my time was rewarded with some choice video of the legal giants from the National Lawyers Guild in action. These fellows are walking advertisements for the adage “you get what you pay for”.
Keep in mind, that I was wearing (in case the police did show up) a 100% authentic RNC press credential.
Despite that, the anarchists came the conclusion that I must be an undercover police officer, and decided to confront me. In fact, you’ll see one “attorney” claim that he remembers seeing me at the Friday night raid on their HQ. The fat man with the big mouth that offered to damage my equipment identified himself as Lawrence A. Hildes, Attorney at Law. According to the business card Mr. Hilders gave me, he earns a living preying on the mentally challenged that hire him in Bellingham, WA.
The smarmy little fellow in the green shirt that tested my patience is known to me as Michael Cavlin, a local nutcase that was the Green Party’s candidate for US Senate until the dope ran out and everyone sobered up.
Pay close attention to how many times these “lawyers” offer to commit crimes….and notice their behaviors. The scrawny guy that was kind enough to allow his offer to commit a felony to be recorded was at least smart enough to remain unidentified.
After watching this film clip, the next time you see a news report where an NLG attorney gets in front of a camera to tell you with outraged indignation and shining eyes, that he, she, or their clients were mercilessly attacked while knitting peace sign doilies, you will have another perspective to remember.
Remember; these people thought I was a cop….how do you think they behave with the citizens at large?
These are the same people gathering buckets of urine. And why would these people feel the need to surround a man with a camera? Whether he was a cop or not. That is a tactic that people use when they are preparing to physically assault or restrain someone.
Cancelations are flying in for RNC events, and it is beginning to make me wonder if the Twin Cities got itself all gussied up for Prom, but her date cancelled.
Years of planning. Scores of local businesses forced to adapt for the RNC this week. Thousands of people busting their butts. And all of a sudden, it seems like it is all a waste.
My regular readers know I am not one who minces words and I think this calling off the convention BS is a joke. I think backing down and canceling the regular convention activities and for all practical purposes turning it into a Red Cross fundraiser is the biggest mistake. And worse, an admission of guilt and solidification of everything the Democrats have said about Katrina.
Republicans need this convention to go after the Democrats. They got beat up and had every single talking point and rhetorical attack thrown at them. They need to respond and with as much attention as possible. If McCain goes ahead with turning his chance to introduce his ticket and message to America into an episode of Oprah, all bets are off.
And as someone who has seen how much my hometown has had to go through for the chance to have this thing here, I’m going to be a little pissed off as well. So are those who have had to suspend their day to day operations, and may end up getting skunked out since they are canceling event after event. Local business owners could be the biggest losers of all.
I know, I know, cold hearted conservative, that’s me. But if McCain and Republicans go ahead and call off the convention and do not at least return to normal operations on Tuesday, it will be a $50 million waste of of time, resources, and momentum.
The Twin Cities and Republicans have our dresses on and hair done up, don’t stand us up Johnny. Look, we can’t come back and do this thing later. There is no postponing this thing. You’ve screwed up our town for this thing, so let’s just go ahead and go through with it.
