Against Republicans Obstructing the Republican Aganda

Gee Mike, Why Don’t You Run Over My Dog While You’re At It

Posted by Andy on 18th November 2008

Guess who has a new book out attacking the other Republican POTUS candidates from 08 and conservative groups in general? No not me, Mike Huckabee.

I saw a clip from Hannity and Colmes last night with Huckabee and it is pretty clear he is following the scorched Earth plan for the 2012 race. Destroy all enemies early and define Republican principles on your own and only your own. An emerging common tactic of all hope-to-be 2012 candidates.

But Huckabee does it with his southern charm, big smile, and nasty attacks that people like me noticed during the primaries. Let’s not forget if it wasn’t for Huckabee, ROmney would have been our candidate. Gee, successful business man running in dire economic times for the country, or a RINO on Government intervention who barely comprehends the whole free market thing.

Thanks again Mike. We owe ya big time.

    Here’s a snippet from someone’s review/summary.

… One thought immediately strikes me:  This sort of candor is rare among politicians who have futures (or believe they have futures).  This is the candidate’s equivalent of writing a tell-all Scott McClellanesque memoir.  It will surely generate a lot of buzz and sells a lot of copies, but does it help him win friends and influence people???

This is exactly the problem with Huckabee. He runs around telling everyone they aren’t good enough when the truth is no one is. And since Huckabee obviously has a desire to stay relevant until 2012 begins, this is political suicide to start attacking people and alienating all those people out there who knew we had picked (er: someone had selected for us) the wrong candidate.
Maybe he is trying to make himself the frontrunner by going after everyone’s jugular hoping for a return favor to gain momentum through the media coverage of the food fight, but the problem is Huckabee just doesn’t do it for his biggest attack target demographics in the Republican wing of politics.

That would be the limited Government conservatives/libertarians.  The road to Republican victory is through what neither party seems willing to stand for, less Government and a passionate campaign to reeducate Americans on the values and principles of Reaganism.

The Democrats have the whole Government can solve all the problems deal covered and if we get into a bidding war using taxpayer dollars and citizen’s liberties as ammunition, we will send this country down the rat hole that is socialism permanently.

Now I would argue that we have already done that, but it is not too late yet, so long as we don’t send another populist Republican to the top of the ticket in 2012 or let them spend the next 4 years half heartedly saying they are a conservative all the while trying to triangulate between Obama’s socialistic tendancies and the right way to govern a free nation. It is clear as day that conservative principles are what this country so desperately needs. Why that is clear to those trying to lead the Republican party is beyond me.

Trust me I know how hard limited government conservative principles are to sell to people. I have a hard time even finding Republicans in office who will hear me out, but I’ll be damned if we are going to let a populist ascend to the top of our ticket again. We just tried that and it was a colossal failure.

Bailoutapalooza - BSificator -Sorting Through The GM Bailout Spin

Posted by Andy on 17th November 2008

I was running to the postoffice today to mail our monthly bookkeeper docs (ahem: something we used to be able to just send out in our normal mail before September 11th. Yes, rather than go piss off any ACLU lawyers or defend this flipping country from terrorists, American citizens have to be incredibly inconvenienced and forced to go hand a package directly to a postal worker if it is over 13 ounces. The shear fact that we would make anyone go deal with the post office…..).

    Stay on target AAA!

    OK.

Anyways, on the way there I caught part of Hannity’s show and he had on someone blabbing on about how we need to do the bailout and if Republicans try to force the Bog 3 into Chapter 11 all hell will break loose. I think it was Pat Buchanan, but I am not sure.

Anyways, the spin from which ever blowhard DC bailout the failures pundit was just completely devoid of any capitalistic common sense.

The punk said that if GM goes Chapter 11, then people won’t buy their cars. They will be too afraid of hhaving them serviced or be able to find replacement parts.

    OMFG!!!!!!

Get out of the goll darn socialistic media green rooms for one damn second and come on out here to mainstreet.

You don’t have to take your car to the dealer for service. And you can get parts all over the place from various manufacturers.

Most importantly, not many people are buying cars right now anyways, what with the bleeping economy in the crapper and the prospect of President green jeans and his band of mass transit pushing, truck hating, let them eat cake Democrats threatening to stop any and all oil exploration.

It isn’t like people will go and buy a car tomorrow if we just throw a few billion dollars at the Big 3.

AAA you are losing it, that vein on your forehead is starting to show signs of a pulse.

OK, back to the point of absolute stupidity of the pro-Bailoutapalooza punk I heard on the radio.

His claim was that if GM goes Chapter 11, they’ll go Chapter 7 and cease to exist. And that people will not be able to get replacement parts like Transmissions in 3 to 5 years.

First that is just BS fearmongering. And second it is completely devoid of any capitalistic fact. If GM does dissolve and disappear, do you know what some aspiring person is going to do if there is all of a sudden a big glutton of GM cars that need new transmission or axels, or whatever?

Do you know? Now I know that watching the media and listening to politicians and pundits will pretty much lleave you with the impression that members of Congress are the only ones who can possibly run a business or American industry, but they can’t and most of them have become politicians because they have been disasters in private industry and needed a steady pay check.

No, if GM, or Ford, or Chrysler ends up going away and the factories are sold for scrap, do you know where people will get the parts to fix them years down the road?

Either from the existing parts manufacturers who make parts for just about all automobile makers out there.

    OR

Someone will buy the old GM plans or god forbid parts factories and start building the parts so people can buy them.

It is called bloody supply and demand.

If people need transmissions, by God someone will make them.

Good fricking gravy are DC politicos absolute morons. It is clear to me that these people are hell bent on destroying our economy. They want to leave nothing standing, and prop up those industries and corporations that need fail (IE learn from their mistakes so they never commit them again and adjust their business model).

I think I had better go take myself to the hospital before I have a stroke. Honest to bleepidy duping goodness are Americans getting absolutely stupid right now.

I love my GM truck, by by God let the damn company fail.

GOP Of The Future? - Schlepping For Votes

Posted by Andy on 13th November 2008

The I’m running for President in 2012 club is meeting and trying to craft the party into a mold that suits them. I’m talking of course about the National Republican Governors meeting and how they are being given the sole responsibility to fix the party. The common message I am hearing is that the Republican party needs to learn how to buy into demographics in order to compete in elections.

Oh sure, they throw in the we can’t lose our principles argument, but they don’t really mean that. I watched a little on of this last night during a bout of insomnia and I am just terrified that a couple of Governors with national aspirations will get to redefine the Republican message.

Frankly some of these Governors are to blame for the decay of the party recently. We’ve watered down our message and began to barter with special interests and demographics already. We gave up the real way to save this party because it just didn’t poll well.

That is to convince Americans far and wide that socialism is a disease and that traditional Republican conservatism (Reaganism) is the best for all Americans. The second we showed that we’d be willing to sell out one of our principles to politically buy into a demographic (think Amnesty, Education, K Street Project) we exposed that some of our own leaders don’t really believe in conservative principles or the power of them.

Minnesota’s Governor Tim Pawlenty is being desperately include in the 2012 shortlist and given a soapbox to help reshape the party. Frankly that scares the begeezers out of me. He is the last person that should be given a seat at the table of the Republican rebuilding. I know that will upset many, but we cannot commit to 4 years of the national Republican message being watered down for the personal gains of a handful of people. And frankly Pawlenty is too quick to pull up tent stakes on sore core issues in my opinion. Um, he jumped on board the Maverick McCain’s camp and said he was perfect….. nuff said!

The rebuilding of this party cannot be done by a handful of people. And it sure as heck can’t be done by people who need the party to reflect their personal brand for a 2012 run.

We cannot repeat the mistakes that have gotten us into this mess and if the people who are going to rebuild this party can fit in one room, we will continue to fail in elections.

I am just going to add a couple thoughts.

A traditional marriage amendment passed in California. In liberal mecca!!!!!

The road to the Republican recovery does not lead through the US Treasury.

Not So Much Newt, Surprise Pawlenty Embraces Green Leftism

Posted by Andy on 10th November 2008

Over on True North there’s an article about how Newt Gingrich may want to be RNC Chair. Frankly I think Newt is a great asset to conservatives, but he has a major failing on global warming that disqualifies him automatically. Leftists are using “Green” as a way of transforming our economy from capitalism to distributionism.

In my mind, any “conservative” who believes man is causing global warming and that Government needs to forcibly coerce bio-fuels is not qualified to lead the party. The Democrats are going to try to bankrupt our cheapest and most reliable energy producers and then subsidize risky and expensive green energy to suit their fringe political agenda.

So forgive me for polluting the center right political pool by saying that Newt is not qualified to lead conservatives against the liberals, but on the most critical issue, the pinnacle issue of today, Newt is a liberal.

And on to Governor Tim Greeny Pawlenty’s new jobs program for Minnesota. I’ll sum it up this way. Any employer or industry that Sierra Club approves of will get a big old tax credit. The rest of the state’s employers and industries will continue to be screwed by liberal tax and regulatory policies.

As I said, anyone who drinks the green kool aid does not deserve to lead the conservative movement or the Republican party.

I crown both Newt Gingrich and Tim Pawlenty Lunacrats!

Where as, they believe in lunatic the policies of Al Gore that not only have science and common sense debunked, but any one with a functioning brainstem whose career doesn’t rely on public ignorance, can spot how the Earth has seen cooler temperatures this year and is forecast for 30 years of cooler temperatures. Be it resolved that neither of them ascend to any official leadership position of the free market oriented Republican party or conservative movement.

I Wish My GOP Did That

Posted by Andy on 7th November 2008

I got an interesting email a few minutes ago from the Michigan Republican party. In it I found this great little article.

    Is it constitutional?

    COMMENTARY:

Which section of the U.S. Constitution gives the federal government the power to bail out banks? If you don’t know, it could be because no constitutional authority exists for such an action. It is all too common for both Congress and the executive branch to ignore that the Constitution limits what they can and cannot do.

The United States is not a parliamentary democracy; it is a constitutional federal republic, giving basic rights to the people and limiting the powers of government. America’s Founding Fathers understood that simple majoritarian democracy could trample the rights of minorities and could lead to tyranny. One of the major reasons for the relative success of the American republic is the difficulty of making significant changes in the government structure and policies. Many find this frustrating, but it allows momentary passions to cool and a more deliberative process to take place. As a result, fewer mistakes are made, in contrast to many parliamentary democracies. Because it was more difficult to put socialist schemes in place in the U.S., such as the nationalization of major industries, the people observed the failure of such programs in parliamentary countries, which diminished the enthusiasm for doing it in America.

A number of constitutional scholars, including former New Jersey Supreme Court Judge Andrew P. Napolitano and Robert A. Levy (who spearheaded the recent successful suit to overturn Washington, D.C.’s unconstitutional ban on gun ownership), have argued that the bank bailout scheme is unconstitutional. In a recent article in the Legal Times,Robert Levy stated: “The federal government has no constitutional authority to spend taxpayers’ money to buy distressed assets, much less to take an ownership position in private financial institutions. And Congress has no constitutional authority to delegate nearly plenary legislative power to the Treasury secretary, an executive branch official.” (This violates the separation of powers provisions of the Constitution.)

    It goes on.

There’s a ton of other great links in this email. I’ll have to link to them later. Stay tuned and pray someday our state party will consider doing something like this or, God forbid, pointing people to the great local blogging community.

Mark Olson & Friends Cost Republicans a Senate Seat

Posted by Andy on 5th November 2008

Officially disgraceful Republican Mark Olson is guilty of another indiscretion of abusing a great woman. Yep, he cost Allison Krueger and the Republicans a State Senate seat. He and his band of self obsessed people in SD16 decided they would run a write in campaign with absolutely no chance of winning.

Well guess what, Olson got a lowsy 316 stinking votes. But that’s not the problem, the Republican on the ballot, Allison Krueger, lost by just 89 votes.

    Results

Yes, that’s right. Mark Olson and his buddies up in SD16 caused the Republican candidate to lose. I hope they are excommunicated from all ties to the Republican party. I hope Mark Olson never shows his face at a Republican event, and if he has the nerve, and I am there, I will not be responsible for my actions. (no violence on my part, but oh boy there will be one hell of a scene)

I hope you are proud of yourselves, Olson, Wilson, and crew. Your little collective tantrum up there is now going to cost us a ton of money next election. You took a Republican district and made it Democrat. Yes, YOU caused the Republican loss. Now we (the Republicans who understand how the Legislature really works) are going to have to spend a ton of money to knock off the Dem in 2010.

Way to go asshats, you took out one of our own.

Payback is a bitch, but don’t worry, you have yours coming soon.

I Will Not Let The GOP Say COnservatism Is The Problem

Posted by Andy on 4th November 2008

So my predictions may be off and it looks sketchy at best for Republicans, but I promise that I will not let my political home, the Republican Party declare conservatism dead.

Trust me, we have a ton of dead weight on the non-ballot leadership side of this party and it is high time that heads roll.

But Didn’t The DFL Raise Taxes For Transportation?

Posted by Andy on 3rd November 2008

No seriously, wasn’t that $6.6 Billion tax increase this last session supposed to solve transportation problems?

For the foreseeable future, Twin Cities commuters should expect to go to work on the highways they have, not the ones they might want.

But they raised taxes over $6 Billion dollars.

The Metropolitan Council is working on its latest Twin Cities transportation plan, one in which the council and the state steer clear of widening highways and building new ones and instead focus on preserving what we have.

Steer clear of adding lanes, but preserve what we have. Love the latter, but don’t see why they ignore the first since they keep pushing to spend spend spend on rail projects. .

Many prominent projects that had been planned for completion between now and 2030 “need to be put on hold at this time to allow the region to reevaluate highway priorities,” the draft says.

So in other words, make life living in the Twin Cities such a hell the people who are self reliant and need to drive suffer for the next 2 decades.

Folks, they are going to be spending over a Billion in the next 5 years on the Central Corridor. They are already ramping up to spend over a billion on a Southwest light rail line.

And these bureaucrats are saying that 95% of us will just have to suffer.

Please remember this when you vote. We need to have a Legislature that is pro transportation not pro mass transit. Vote GOP and a vote for more roads, bridges, and highways.

Again, I remind you that the DFL Legislature raised taxes $6 Billion last session and now you get to see that that it won’t build one mile of roads.

Get Off Your Damn Ass, Win This Election, And Defeat Socialism

Posted by Andy on 29th October 2008

I hear the TV pundits talking about how Republicans are fed up and going to vote the Democrats and Obama because of the low Bush approval ratings….

But let us take a look at why those ratings are so low and why conservatives may be fed up.

Is it because conservatives are so fed up with a conservative President that they will embrace Obama and his fringe left policies and vote for Obama?

As a conservative who has been livid over the liberal leanings of Bush and his administration I can’t imagine a single “real” conservative even considering voting for the fringe left Obama.

For the love of Pete, if you think voting for the socialist in chief Obama is going to help, God help you.

If you think Franken, Madia, Walz, Tinklenberg, Ellison, etc winning is somehow going to return American Government back to the liberty favoring aspect our Constitution favors, you stucking fupid.

Get out there and work. Please contact your local Victory office or local candidate and volunteer to go door to door. Volunteer to call our voters to make sure they showed up.

Don’t take “leave me alone” as an excuse. Don’t think you have done enough. Go volunteer! Drag your friends and neighbors with you.

Obama is scared his coronation won’t pan out. He thought the media would do the heavy lifting. HE thought ACORN would seal the deal.

If you are a freedom loving American by God get up off the couch and work to win this election. You have 6 days to stop National Socialism from encompassing the Oval Office and Congress.

I will not take “no” for an answer. I will not take I’ve done enough as an answer.

Until we defeat redistributionism and socialism, we have not protected America.

We’ll fix the party after the election. trust me. GOP reform is coming, but first, an election.

Senator Stevens Must Resign Now, GOP Senate Must Throw Him Out Yesterday

Posted by Andy on 27th October 2008

There is something Senate Republicans could do to define themselves as the party of the people not power. That would be to throw Ted Stevens out of the caucus now that his trail of corruption has finally been treated to justice.

I urge my Republican Senator Norm Coleman (R MN) to call for the Senate Republican caucus to throw Stevens out. It is harsh, but there is no better time to start proving we are the party of accountability.

Please Norm Coleman, show some leadership and throw this guy out. Then promise to call for censure of Stevens and a resolution of no confidence should the Senate return for a lame duck session.

We need to police our own. We need to regain the trust of the people.

Throw Stevens out of the GOP or kiss the party goodbye.
