  • So What’s It Like Being a Radio Personality?

Posted by Andy on August 27th, 2005

I hope you all heard my radio debut earlier today on Taxpayer’s League Live w/ David Strom.

Gary from KennedyvMachine and I were guests on the TPL show this morning. Well we were allowed to speak once Representative Chris DeLaForest was through. Man that guy hogs the mic.

Gary and I got to express why we like Kennedy for the Senate, Why we blog, And what the race for the US Senate in MN looks like as for the Democratic side.

If you haven’t been on radio before, it is rather unnerving. But once I got comfortable, I couldn’t shut up and now PETA is marching in front of my home. I mentioned that my dog’s bathroom habits suffer from my hours of blogging at night, which was not literal, but still the hairy armpit convention is convening in front of my house chanting “Let Rufus Go! Let Rufus Go! Let Rufus Go!” and “Hey Hey Ho Ho, That Doggy Rufus Has Got To Go!”

Hope it sounded ok, and thanks to everyone who listened.

Today also marked my return to the State Fair. I hadn’t been there in almost 10 years, and I now remember why. Now granted, if you are depressed about your life, the Fair is a great place to go to cheer up. If you think you are fat, there will be people that make you look like a tick. If you are ugly, there will be people taht make you look like a Brazilian SuperModel. It is the Great Minnesota Freak Show. Blaze Orange camouflage, spandex stretched to the breaking point, and even some attractive ladies.

I hate the crowds. But I sufferred through it. Got some exercise walking around, and didn’t step in anything. So it was worth it all.

I was working the Taxpayers League booth during the show and figured I could crank my radio to hear it but nothing gets through those grandstand walls apparently.
I guess I’ll have to listen to a replay.

I didn’t hear myself either, when would there be a replay?

[...] Our very own First Ringer is joining the public punditry crowd here at KvM. Considering your own First Ringer’s dozens of appearances at Keegan’s, interview with the Pequot Lakes Echo and yahoo mail account minus my blogging nom de plum, my ”coming out” this Saturday for a Constitution Day celebration as a secondary speaker for a forum on Iraq’s attempts at a 1776 impersonation are certainly a little anti-climatic. But hey, I can’t let Gary and Andy from KvM have all the public punditry fun. [...]
