Joe railed on party chair Carey at a State Central Meeting a few years back and walked out of the meeting in a major fluff. Same hot air and pettyness that made him not a suitable party chair reflects in his stance regarding a radio show. I am sure he was more than disappointed when his letter to the Strib was mentioned in this and other blogs, again making him the "angry Joe" and showing his position favorably.

I suppose since Severson HAS a legislative record this is fair game, though I hesitate to vote against any Republican just for a few "bad" votes, or even a lot of them, unless I find somebody considerably better. The problem here is that the argument cuts both ways, in that Hegseth has no legislative experience at all. Right?

Ewwww. YU CALL ANDY ANGRY! ME NO LIKE DAT!

You may want to rethink that line of strategy as it will prove the 2012 Andy as the person with wisdom who should be listened to.

I seem to recall Seifert supporters saying in 2010 something on the line that "A vote by any of the delegates at the state convention for Tom Emmer is a vote for a DFL governor."

I also seem to recall Andy's rather angry (is there any other kind) of response to this electability argument.

Gor irony?

More to follow on Andy 2010 versus Andy 2012.....

Any items about not beating your wife or did the Ron Paul delegates veto that one.

By the way, any chance you will offer a rule change to say that anyone who is under a restraining order for beating their wife can not serve as a National Delegate to represent the party.
Since Marianne and the Ron Paul campaign in Minnesota don't seem to have an issue with having someone like that represent Ron Paul, maybe we can do something to say that is not something the party endorses.

Andy, Thank you for this very informative article and links. I have suspected the Ron Paul group here in Minnesota isn't really being run by Ron Paul supporters. They seem more like anarchists - even Occupy types. The whole idea that they require their minions to vote the slate and only the slate seems rather anti-liberty to me. I'm not against slates. But I wouldn't want some women and young thugs telling me who to vote for. But that's me....

[...] Don’t tell that to Kurt Bills’ campaign manager. There was a problem, however. In Virginia (the only state that was a straightforward Paul vs Romney vote), Paul’s vote was overwhelmingly young but not orthodox Republican in its views. His supporters were more inclined to be pro-choice on abortion, nonevangelical, and opposed to the tea party. Given that Paul is pro-life, religious, and wildly supportive of the tea party, this confirms the growing tension between the man and his movement. In the future, a Paulite candidate might do better by running third party on a more socially tolerant platform. Young people seem to like their libertarianism to be socially tolerant as well as fiscally prudent. Well, this is the new MNGOP establishment thanks to RoN Paul & Kurt Bills. But that socially liberal while fiscally conservative platform sounds familiar. Hmmmm. Oh yeah. Jesse Ventura. (Disclosure: Yes, when I was young dumb and easily fooled by politicians, I voted for him) Within the GOP, the Paulites are still the unbeaten masters of the administrative procedure. Last Saturday, they swept a confusing ballot process in Louisiana to give themselves control of 70% of delegates attending the state’s nominating convention, which could mean they end up numerically “winning” Louisiana. Similar things have happened in Minnesota and even Romney’s home state of Massachusetts. But being the last man standing doesn’t equal general election victories. Ron Paul has yet to win a real election. [...]

First, there were several rumors going around pertaining to the delay in cutting the check, not just the one that got "legs". Second, there is no reason why the campaign could not have received the funds as early as Tuesday following the convention. NONE. Cleared funds were available, and there was no "procedure" issue at all. That is just a canard. Third, those who say that a thirteen day delay in releasing funds is inconsequential are just ignorant of politics. There is a lot of that in CD4.
