Hey, The Wireless Broadband Is Working

Posted by Andy on 13th October 2007

I guess the laptop card is working this weekend here at the cabin, so here goes with a few things.

From the INBOX - Tink on Impeachment
    1) It seems El Tinklenberg, Sr. Gas Tax, is willing to support Impeachemnt, but not author it himself. Man this guy is clueless. By the time Tinklenberg would take office, should he win, Bush would no longer be in office. Honestly, I know the guy is one of the Governmental clingers-on, but come on. At least have the decency not to pander so blatantly to the fringe liberals that run the DFL.

From the INBOX: We’re So Stupid
    2) This one is about how Congress has decided to take the cowardly way out of ending the war in Iraq. Of course this way makes enemies for America, and endangers US troops. They are alienating one of our allies this time it is Turkey. A country that our military relies on heavily for supply lines and fly over rights. Man, you just have to be absolutely dillusional if you think the Democrats are good for America when it comes to National Security.

    3) New blog. Seventh Son It will no doubt be yet another great place to find conservative news on the intertubes!

From the INBOS: 5,900 by 2030
    4) That’s the ridership forecast for Northstar. Yes, you read that right, five thousand nine hundred by the year 2030. A bunch of politicians are triumfilant this week over the train clearing a final hurdle in DC. Of course, no one is bothering to mention how the Federal taxpayers are spending $400 million dollars on a train that will ride largely on existing tracks belonging to Burlington Northern. I guess AmTrak was busy, or the route was not heavily enough subsidized. I have the strong feeling that some day Northstar will be the anchor around politicians necks, as one of the biggest boondioggles ever under taken. Seriously, if you think bridges to nowhere are a waste, what do you think about a train to nowhere, that hardly anybody will ride.

    5) And lastly, I am having a good old time playing around here at the cabin. OK, to me pl;aying means doing work, but it is a relief for me to get stuff done that you can see at the end of the day. Especially when bobcats are involved.

I am cleaning up the yard from all the excavating from the new well and septic system. I happened across the old septic tank tonight with the bobcat. P U !!!!!!!

Oh, and I had the priviledge of changing a trailer tire on an Interstate 35 offramp last night. I blew a trailer tire, and I say blew, I mean blew. It ended up shredding and doing one heck of a number on the fender. I apologize for anyone who was following me, as they got one hell of a shower of sparks at 65 MPH.

Oh, and for the good Dr. Banananananananananaman, I didn’t have to call Matt Damon, nor road side assistance to change it. Even with the bobcat, a pallet of patio blocks, and a load of rocks on the trailer.

Oh, and RFOne, hardly knew anything was behind her on the way up. Let’s see that Krautburner of yours handle that. Oh, and there was plenty of room for Matt Damon in the cab, not to mention Ben Aflec and George Clooney.

    6) Oh, and I am a little perplexed that Lugnut likes to lay on the pink blanket. Maybe that final boat ride was too much for him. Or maybe, the week at the girlfriends was the problem.

Me Time, Matt Damon Can Walk

Posted by Andy on 11th October 2007

Well, we had the funeral for my sister today. I’ll miss you Connie, but heaven will be a better place with your smile and that bubbly laugh.

Tonight I am off to go pick up Lugnut who has been staying with my girlfriend since Friday. I haven’t seen him in a while, and well, he’ll probably maul both me a Rufus with slobber.

Tomorrow is going to be try to get something done at work since so much has slipped through the cracks since we were distracted this week.

Then, tomorrow night I am off to the cabin to pull the dock and bring my boat home. I won’t say I’ll be closing the place down for the year though, cause now it is useable in the winter thanks to all the work on the water and sewer systems. I also have some more exterior work to button up on the outhouse before winter. (I will try to get some pics so y’all can see the progress this year. I’d like to see the Dr. Banaian do what i did.)

So, well, posting will be light for a few days, and oh well, I kind of need to get myself back into the right frame of mind, and some stuff done before the flakes fly and lake freezes over.

Oh and for the good Dr. Banaian. I will be towing a bobcat to the cabin, plus a load of rocks for the shoreline. Can your little kraut burning Vdub do that?

    newsierra2500hd.JPG

Yeah, I didn’t think so. Why don’t you go eat a veggie burger. Oh and you want to play the dog card? bring it!

    Have a good weekend all.

    See ya!

Posted by Andy on 20th July 2007

I am heading to the cabin for a long weekend. I have to meet a well driller up there today, and finalize the details with the new septic system contractor.

Oh and that boat has been sitting on that boat lift for far too long. She really needs to see a sunset.

    Later!

    Lakeward Bound

Posted by Andy on 15th June 2007

I am headed back up to da cabin after a day of running around getting stuff. the good news is, I have the boat in tow. The shop did great and timely work, so i will get to do some cruising on this vacation. I had a bad gasket which was causing the leak, and blew a trim hose. All better now.

If you are in town, make sure to swing by the Capital, tomorrow (Saturday) for the Immigration/Flag Day (?) rally which I believe starts at noon. (sorry, didn’t have time to lock down the details. If anyone has them, please leave them in the comments. )

    Have a good weekend folks.

    Personal Update: I am alive

Posted by Andy on 14th June 2007

I’m home from my vacation for a day to grab more supplies for the cabin renovation and attend keegan’s tonight. They are giving away the trip to Boston, and i happen to be in the running.

It has been hot as heck at the cabin, but I have gotten a ton of stuff done. For those that don’t know, I am rebuilding or renovating my family’s cabin in Wisconsin. I got the rest of the windows in the porch and sided it.

It has been kinda different up there as my boat is in the shop. I had some trim problems and water leaks. Since I have been so swamped with work and other stuff, I took it into the shop rather than do it myself. So it hasn’t been at the cabin to enjoy, and I have had to resort to the pontoon.

I’ll be heading back up to the cabin in the morning to do some more work over the weekend.

As for my future, I have not really made any decisions yet. Since there are still people impersonating me on rival blogs and trying to ruin my remaining reputation, I am really leaning towards taking a leave from party politics.

I just don’t think I can give my BPOU or the Anoka County GOP the attention they deserve. I’ve killed myself the last few years to try to give every aspect of my life the effort needed, but I am coming to the realization that I can’t do everything I or others want me to, live a healthy happy life, and earn a living. I need to find balance, and well, I can’t quit my life, or job, so, well, it may have to be the volunteer stuff.

There have been lots of people who have sent messages to keep the faith because to quit would give my opponents a win, or statements of how much the party needs people like me who will speak their mind, not the toe the status quo line, now more than ever.

Well, the way I and others were treated by party insiders and leaders was shameful and has killed my passion right now. Will it come back? I am sure, but I feel I would be standing in the way of progress while I try to find the time to do the needed things.

I plan to discuss things with these groups next week, and will make my decision based on their input, not that of cowards who won’t put their name to their words. You do not have to worry about asshats running my life. I am not that weak of an individual. But I refuse to have to fight for the right to simply be heard. If people won’t listen, why waste my time?

Oh and for those that didn’t get it, I did pull my blog down so I didn’t have to worry about asshat commenters gloating and further insulting me and my friends. I think that it is a sad statement of the people I share a party with that this is how they behave. I also think it is disgusting how some people feel they have the right to decide who does and does not make it to the big dance in the political world.

I received an email earlier this week that someone was once again posting under my name on another blog saying very disturbing things. It was not me. Once again, there are cowards in the lurk who feel that I am still someone who needs to be dealt with. I guess it is an honor to have people (in high places?) who feel that I am worthy of their attention.

Have a good weekend. And don’t forget, I’m watching you focker!

See ya, Wouldn’t Want to be ya!

Posted by Andy on 1st June 2007

I am off to the cabin. I am seeking some time away before the big week. (MNGOP election is next Sat.) And work is, well, just insane. So I am getting away for the weekend.

For those that care, my grandma is doing well. I saw her today, and her spirits are up, and she is getting feisty again. She should be going back to her home tomorrow.

I’ll be back Sunday, so y’all be good til then.

(Remember I did have to work last weekend, so this is my brief Memorial break.

Oh, and I am bringing up my boat. I didn’t have time to test run her before I left, so let’s hope all is well. I did fill the block with RV anti-freeze this year. No more cracked blocks or no engines please.)

Bye. (oh and don’t any trolls go and try anything funny. I know you all may be quite upset this weekend, but it wasn’t me. I mean that. )

Oh, and sorry to Kev and tracy. I can’t make the Blog wars or Anti-Strib/MOB gathering.

Maybe I[ll have y’all up to my cabin this Summer. ……. Maybe.

    I’m Taillights Baby

Posted by Andy on 30th September 2006

What is it about the weekends that get me sick? Last Sunday I had a fever induced coma, and now this weekend I have a headcold. I guess burning the candle at both ends all week to get work, blogging, and fun in catches up with you eventually.

So anyways, if you couldn’t tell my blogging was a bit ‘off’ yesterday. My head felt like it weighed about as much as Rosie O’Donnel’s left butt check. (yeeesshhhh!)

I had originally planned to head up to the cabin to bust ass one more weekend and try to finish siding the porch at the cabin. Well thanks to the cold, and the MNGOP State Central Meeting today, my plans were foiled. Even before the cold, I had scrapped plans for the Friday departure to the cabin, since this meeting is in my District. I figured I’d better at least show my face.

So anyways, why do you care? Good question. But if you are still reading this, I’ll let you know my ‘little’ plans for the weekend.

I am going to be loading up for the cabin this morning. I have to make a stop at Menards for some J-trim. I’ll hit the grocery store. To the meeting. If anything interesting happens, I’ll post on it. And then I’m taillights baby. (That means you’ll only see my taillights as I will be heading out of town.)

The cabin plans are to get some siding done. I’d love to finish it up, but I don’t think a day will be enough time. I’d also like to get the boat out of the water. That way I can pull the boat lift into the shallow water before it gets too cold. You have to get into the water and often under it in order to get it off the legs and onto the wheels.

So that is the plan. It’ll be tough because I’ll be up there alone.

    Have a good weekend.

Tomorrow Night, ME, Da Boat, Mmmmm

Posted by Andy on 1st May 2006

I am going to be taking da boat out for a spin tomorrow night for her maiden (OK second), ready for summer voyage. I have her all error checked and buttoned up. Tomorrow will be the night of big smiles and satisfaction for all the grief of the engine swap.

    Tuesday
Warmer. Mostly sunny in the morning then becoming partly cloudy. Highs 70 to 75. Southwest winds 10 mph.

It will be a pain launching her by my lonesome, but again, the feeling of all that work paying off will pale to da boat racing across the water like a champ. It’ll be soooooooo worth it.

I think I’ve earned it. I suppose I can offer that it ain’t too late for takers, but hey, there is something about racing across a lake all by yourself that is so good for the soul. (not that it is too late, departure, 5:30)

    Argh!

Posted by Andy on 21st April 2006

Have you ever had a day when everything just came at you at once? Wham, everything went to crap for you in like the matter of an hour? Not all the stuff was bad, but a whole week’s worth of schtuff to deal with crammed up into like an hour?

Holy crap people. Give me a second to catch my breath. Please?

So on that note, I am going to go home and drink and have a steak. Check that, I am going to head home, stop and buy a steak and some broccoli, then go home, and BBQ me up some good old beef. Of course there will be mad amounts of JD consumed, why not, it has been a heck of a week, and I deserve it.

I’ve managed to piss off a good number of lefty blogs. I think all the 6th CD campaigns hate me now. I was lucky enough to have taken my boat out to filler with gas and let the newly washed floor of it dry out, but it poured rain like mad on me. So it is now back in the garage to dry out for the maiden voyage tomorrow.

Oh yeah, I have now freaking insurance on it, because freaking insurance companies suck! If I were god, they’d have to jump through hoops for my business, not the other way around. For jeepers’ sakes, they make you go through living hell to be allowed to pay them a butt load of money every month. I think it would be easier to catch Osama bin Laden then it is to get a boat insured in this country. What the frack is that about?

Oh, and the Legislature can’t help but expand state government and hand money out like it grows on trees. Thanks, I sure hope these bloated fat cats that are writing these gynourmous checks are there when they need to be paid for. I want these SOBs that have grown roots in St. Paul to wake up one morning with 5 million Minnesotans pounding on their door , asking them why the hell they decided it’d be a good thing to spend billions of dollars on crap?

    [insert screaming sound here]

So there, I hope that cheers you all up. Have a great weekend. I’m sure I’ll have a couple drunk posts tonight, why not? I don’t think I’ve pissed off the Catholics yet today. Might as well.

Oh wait, I got it. I think I’ll do a post how the gutless cowardly left is going to get us all killed with their pacifist ways. That always gets under their skin.
