Former Senator Fred Thompson, and rumored 4th horseman in the Republican Presidential sweepstakes will be appearing on Fox News Sunday tomorrow, March 11th.
Coming Up on ‘FNS’
With many conservatives unhappy with the current Republican field, some are pushing for a new candidate. Is Fred Thompson the next Ronald Reagan? We’ll talk with the former senator — now an actor — about taking on a new role.
This may be where and when he lets the cat out of the bag.
Honestly, it is so early, there is plenty of time still to catch up. And, the $100 million dollar threat that the backers of other candidates are pushing is exactly that, a threat. Its being used to scare people away from candidates conservatives who represent their policies. Besides, Thompson raised $4 million dollars for Scooter Libby’s defense in short time.
Of course people from the McCain, Rudy, and Romney camps will start attacking Thompson. He is a threat to them. There’s a serious conservative vacuum in the Republican party leadership, and Thompson may be the perfect guy to heed the call.
That call was the one sent loud and clear at CPAC, but was overshadowed by Coulter’s idiocy and McCain’s absence.
Respondents were asked if various candidates for President, if elected, would govern as a conservative. Counting only those who had an opinion about a candidate, the results were:
Tom Tancredo 88.1%
Newt Gingrich 87.9%
Sam Brownback (news, bio, voting record) 85.8%
Duncan Hunter (news, bio, voting record) 83.5%
Mike Huckabee 73.8%
Ron Paul (news, bio, voting record) 62.3%
Mitt Romney 55.2%
Rudy Guiliani 24.1%
John McCain 16.8%
Notice how the top 3 Republicans in the primary polls, are the bottom three here? That ain’t good folks. If we’re already broken down to electability being all that matters, what’s the point of party platforms?
Draft Fred! That didn’t take long.

HE doesn’t have to shabby looking of a record. Much better than others in the race.
Anyways, tune in tomorrow morning.
Fox News Sunday is on at 8:00AM in the Twin Cities.
