    Thompson Scores MCCL Nod

Posted by Andy on 18th December 2007

Unbeknownst to the local media, the MCCL (Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life) is a Pro-Life group, not an anti-abortion group. (ahem, Bias?)

Anywho, the group has endorsed Fred Thompson for President.

ST. PAUL (AP) - A Minnesota anti-abortion organization has endorsed former Senator and TV star Fred Thompson for president.

Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life says the Republican earned the endorsement with his consistent opposition to abortion. The group says he opposed using tax dollars to pay for abortion and certain kinds of stem cell research.

The National Right to Life Committee announced its endorsement for Thompson about a month ago.

It is called a past record, it is a great way to see how someone would act in the future.

    9,6,7 = FRED!

Posted by Andy on 30th August 2007

Fred Thompson just sent out an email saying he will make it official on September 9th.

    Dear Friends,

On September 6, 2007, Fred Thompson will be announcing his intention to run for President of the United States with a webcast available to millions at www.imwithfred.com. The launch of the video will be followed by a five-day campaign tour through Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. On the evening of the 6th, there will also be a National House Party, during which there will be a conference call with Fred.

We enter this campaign in a strong position. Fred is consistently near the top in the polls, and conservatives across the country have put together the closest thing to a draft in recent presidential campaign history in an effort to bring about this day. [...]

Fred! Getting Ready to Get Going?

Posted by Andy on 25th July 2007

Is Fred Thompson getting ready to officially get his campaign going?

ompson is shaking up his still-unofficial campaign, replacing his top aide with a former Michigan senator and a veteran Florida strategist.

The shake-up comes amid consternation inside the campaign about the active role played by Thompson’s wife, Jeri, a lawyer, media consultant and former Republican National Committee official.

“Rumors are rumors,” said Thompson spokeswoman Linda Rozett. “It is not a personal issue. It’s an organizational issue. We are strengthening the organization as we enter the next phase.”

“next phase” Well, now is the time. I don’t like the idea of another big government Republican Governor getting the nomination and winning the Presidency.

    Run Fred, Run!

Fred’s Candidacy - To Be Born on the Fourth of July

Posted by Andy on 25th June 2007

Former US Senator Fred Thompson is set to announce his official entry into the GOP Presidential field on the 4th of July. This is great news for conservatives. You see we don’t trust the people running who are saying they are a real conservatives….. now, before they weren’t or well….. before they weren’t facing a conservative grading system like this.

I am thrilled. The major problem with this race has been too many candidates all trying to shrug off their own records, or also rans trying to make a name for themselves, but no one stepping up to lead the movement. You see conservatives are not looking for someone to take us somewhere. We know where we want to go, but more importantly, we can spot an impostor quite easily.

It should be quite telling to the other candidates that a guy who is not even really running is now taking the lead.

    Stupid Sender: So Long Intelligence

Posted by Andy on 21st June 2007

This has to be one of the lamest attempts by a Democrat to attack the GOP.

Letter of the day: So long, GOP; here comes Independence Party

    Published: June 21, 2007

Surprise surprise it is the Letter of the day.

Republicans were desperately seeking another Ronald Reagan when along came Sen. Fred Thompson, another B actor with a gift of gab.

Ah yes, that terrible actor who had America’s attention and they trusted him. He defeated Communism (which is why the writer hates him), and converted Democrats to Republicans by the bushel, and won 49 states in the 84 election. Obviously he would go straight to DVD if still an actor today. ;)

Thompson and other candidates, except Rudy Giuliani, would sacrifice women at the altar of anti-abortion zealots.

Meanwhile the anti-life crowd worships at the altar of terminating life. A brilliant theology if you are a barbaric and uncompassionate human, and darn tough to grow the ranks of since you keep killing people in order to exercise your right to kill, er choose.

The Republican Party destroys women and gays, breaks unions, befriends robber barons, and embraces war and torture. Its symbol should be the dinosaur, not the majestic elephant. The Republican Party has imploded.

    [dumbfounded]

Under the Democratic life terminating ideology (see above) they have prematurely terminated more gays, women, and Americans than any war has. Having one’s body chopped up and sucked into a vacuum if not torture is at the least destroying life.

Republicans believe in true equal rights, where everyone is the same and shall fail or prevail in life based on their own merit. Democrats believe in leveling the playing field, holding back the prosperous, punishing the fortunate, and creating a welfare and entitlement state that leaves no room for improvement and gets people in poverty.

And it is Democrats who are trying to remove one’s freedom and forcing them to join a union, and trying to pass laws allowing union goons to intimidate voters by removing the secret ballot. Big labor is a fear based industry. Join or else! (I say no thanks)

The Democratic party also embraces terrorists (see Jimmy Carter), loathes the use of force to liberate the oppressed, oust despots, and spread freedom. They also covet the most corrupt organization ever known to man, the UN. They also plan to destroy the American way of life based on junk science and their desire to destroy capitalism.

The author is obviously a socialist, and probably curses the day the parties switched colors so that the Dems were no longer sharing the RED with the communists.

If we need a two-party system, let it be the Democratic and Independence Party. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg could make it happen.

Ah, yes, the parties of the little guys. Most of their best and brightest are millionaires. Bloomberg is a multi-billionaire. They share all the ideas. The two party’s differences are indecipherable.

All the letter writer is seeking is to take away choice. People like this despise the Republican party because having conservative ideas in the debate makes them feel guilty and inferior. And what do good liberals do when something makes them feel guilty or inferior? (no not tax it) They try to ban it.

I think the author is lashing out so fiercely because they are afraid. They are scared that Thompson could do what Reagan did. Singlehandedly destroy liberalism by his ability to convey conservatism to the steaming masses in a way that they would too embrace.

If I was a liberal I would fear having another Reaganesque speaker leading teh Republicans too. that’swhy the want to destroy the party before it is too late and they find themselves and their ideals irrelevant for another decade and a half.

    POTUS Barometer

Posted by Andy on 22nd April 2007

Here are the results from the 4th Congressional District Republican’s Presidential straw poll from Saturday.

    92 total ballots were cast.

    Fred Thompson - 31
    John McCain - 13
    Mitt Romney - 10
    Rudy Guilani - 8
    Tom Tancredo - 8
    Newt Gingrich - 6
    Sam Brownback - 5
    Ron Paul - 2
    Tommy Thompson - 2
    Mike Huckabee - 1

Other - 6 (including one vote for Tim Pawlenty)

A few people voted for themselves and were not posted, thus the totals don’t add up to 92.

It is quite interesting especially considering only two of them had any presence there. Someone distributed flyers for Tancredo, and some College Republicans had a table for McCain. It was low key, and there was no arm twisting.

I think the fact that Thompson showed so strongly should really send a clear message…..
