Words To Live By
"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

Isn’t Oprah Like The Richest Woman In America

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

Busy day here at the RF day job. Gonna tryto get some rants done tonight, but in the mean time I need some help.

Just what the heck is this all about?

Oprah Winfrey’s mom countersues store for its $156K bill

MILWAUKEE — Oprah Winfrey’s mother says she shouldn’t have to pay a nearly $156,000 debt to a high-end fashion store because store officials shouldn’t have extended credit to her.

Valentina Inc. alleges Vernita Lee of Milwaukee racked up $155,547 in purchases and interest as of July 1. The company sued, saying Lee fell behind in minimum monthly payments of $2,000.

Lee filed a counterclaim Friday, contending Valentina took advantage of her “lack of knowledge, ability, and-or capacity” when creating her credit account.

Court papers say Lee resolved a 2002 case with the company over a $175,000 bill. The resolution prohibited Valentina from extending further credit to her.

I’d think that a woman who has multi million dollar mansions strewn across America, that she could at least give her mother a few clothes. I mean, lord knows that everyone needs $150,000 of new clothes ever few years.

Good grief does it seem like someone is out of touch with what the rest of have to do in our daily lives.

But again, please explain this one to me. Seems like she owed $175K, settled, but then the store let her take another $156K out on credit. Who’s stupider?
