AAA Out?, From the INBOX, Home Remedies, Better Not Bigger, PLANET Sucks

Posted by Andy on 19th May 2007

What a crappy week. Put in over 55 hours at work. Non-stop manual labor with no down time. Lunch break, try inhaling a bite in 15 minutes between things.  Throw in meetings almost every night, and that leaves for one tired AAA. So I was supposed to head to the cabin last night, but when i finally left work at about 7 last night (like almost every day this week) after starting at 7 AM, and I hadn’t even had a chance to pack up yet, and I had no strength to do it. Too much sod laid, too many fire hoses dragged, too my digging, lifting, and running around coordinating road crews, gas line replacement, and other things that just pop up in the course of the week. I like week ends, because they mean this week is over. Yeah!

Add to that, a sharp shooting pain in my lower back that makes simply moving a painful chore now, and I surrendered to crashing last night. I really have no clue what’s going on in the news, and I am far too tired to care. Some people may be pissed I didn’t post some things, but too bad. I’ve been too busy to even spend time with my dogs, so back the frack off.

And besides, some people think I suit the DFL’s agenda better than the GOP, so quite honestly, I could care less about blogging right now. The fact that some people think I do no good, pisses me off. Why is it that some people think they own the ….

What was once a mandatory passion is now a sore spot as some people don’t like the way I do it. I say frack them, but I am just getting tired of people thinking they can tell me how to be me. I’m finally getting to that point many people reach where you have too much going on, and you need to cut some things out. Well, since I have no real life, there’s no frills to cut there. Being active in politics, well, it sounds like the most appealing.

Quit poli-blogging, well, this week it has seriously crossed my mind. if no one appreciates it, why in the hell do I bust my ass doing it? I may be ready to walk away from it all and have a real normal life, since, after all, everything, all the political and blogging crap I do, is for free and I don’t get a dime to do it, and in fact, it ends up costing me a lot, money, time, and stress. It all feels like it is not worth it anymore. I think that is because it isn’t anymore.

So I am about to head out of town this morning to get the heck out of this goll darn town, but before I do I want to post this email from earlier this week from a person I know.

With all the buzz in the late days of the Minnesota Legislature’s 2007 session, it seems to me I have figured out a personal course to help the state’s fortunes. I’m switching parties at the next election and voting DFL.

Yessiree! I’m going to help Minnesota do what was suggested in an editorial in today’s paper, to cause the rich and almost rich to leave the state if they won’t pay more tax. It would help our transportation issues significantly if they took their businesses with them, as some have already done. Less business mean less people driving to work, which would allow our land of ten thousand lakes to be what it is most suited for; a state-wide retirement community. We’d still have hospitality and entertainment jobs, but workers would have to compete with retirees looking to stay active and supplement retirement incomes.

Our own experience teaches us that some folks won’t move, but will commute every other weekend to other states. Well, that’s better than to-from work here five days a week on highways that are underfunded and mortgaged to our children.

We’ll need to lower the state tax by 50% at least, to encourage wealthy folks to retire here and withdraw the 401k they accumulated working elsewhere.

Oh, and as for education, we’ll need less of it. You see, the reality would be that 21 year old graduates would have to look for jobs in other states. So, they may as well be educated by other states, as many are now anyway as a result of the high cost of state education.

My wife and I will finally be united in all things after 27 years of marriage. I just won’t mention that she’ll likely be retiring sooner than her plans.

Yes, I think the DFL has an excellent long term strategy! Who says they’re a disorganized party bent on self destruction? Maybe some of those newly elected legislators won’t be one termers after all.

A little snark, but a little truth in there about if the DFL & Big Government/Nanny State types gets its way. There will be no job grow in this state if spending continues to grow at or near double digit levels. I’m sorry, but as one of those who will be left behind to pay the bill, I can’t afford to pay for a better Minnesota. I can barely pay for a better AAA.

We need to make Government better, not bigger.

(What’s the best home remedy for a sore back? Seems like a muscle or nerve strain, not spine related.)

Anyways, as the tittle suggested this is a bunch of random crap. Lots of thoughts from over the course of the week. To sum it all up, I am tired of fighting an uphill battle to prove all is not well or things could be better, and I no longer have the time to do it. My ‘pay the bills’ job is going to be crazy for the entire Summer, and well, it deserves more of my attention than the GOP-blogging cause.

What I am going to do? I don’t know. I am tired, exhausted, just plain worked,  and I have learned not to make decisions when your mind is in this state. Honestly, I feel like I don’t want to do any of it anymore, but I think that is the emotions and exhaustion are speaking. Or maybe it is because of the way certain people treat me. I don’t know.

Some people I know look to me for inspiration, others with disdain. I guess maybe it is time for me to find some inspiration again. What will AAA do?

Anyways, hopefully I can do some soul searching this weekend to see if it is even worth it anymore.

    Have a good weekend,

    AAA

PS: Don’t buy that ‘Planet’ biodegradable dishwasher detergent, it sucks tailpipe and may have busted my dishwasher. I hope to get back from the cabin early enough tomorrow to get a new one and install it. So I got that going for me.

    Rosie Cheeks

Posted by Andy on 23rd April 2007

It pains me to do it, but I must acknowledge Rosie O’Donnel today. She made hay out of Sheryl Crows’ one square lunacy too.

Crow made her comments on her blog last week, and Rosie took a moment on this morning’s “The View” to express her incredulity at the supposedly enviro-friendly suggestion. “Have you seen my ass?!” bellowed Rosie,

And Good old Babs had some great advice too.

and Barbara Walters was good enough to warn viewers not to use their sleeves, another of Crow’s helpful suggestions.

No word yet how this will affect the ‘Freedom to Poop’ law here in Minnesota. If you have the right to have a ‘pesky’ poop in a non-public restroom …. can you use more than the alloted squares?

I surely hope political discourse can get back above the bowl sometime soon. We have a world to save, one square at a time.

    You first Ms. Crow!

‘We can make it work with only one square per restroom visit, except, [...]

I think this is probably going to be an excelent example of “do as I say, not as I do”

Poor Planning or Playing Favorites ????

Posted by Andy on 13th April 2007

Someone emailed this to me. I believe this is pretty accurate. It is the layout for tomorrow’s rallies at the Minnesota Capital.april14th.jpg

I don’t think they actually get the area outside of the oval drive, but still you get to see how the Capital folks may have played a favorite here.

    Update:

Sorry, I guess the environutters and Sierra Club were assisted in their request, and got special permits which will allow them to extend beyond the oval drive. Plus they will be selling merchandise.

Who’s Playing on the Second Stage Saturday?

Posted by Andy on 13th April 2007

So who miffed up with the whole TaxCut Coalition rally vs. the Sierra Club global cookiness day?

Now Jason Lewis has been backing off his rhetoric about how the Sierra Club has tied to upstage his tax cut rally tomorrow at the State Capital, noon, buses available.

Now, nut jobs like Sen. Amy Klobuchar are going to be there to protest the capitalistic endevors on behalf of changing the world’s economy, and it is a national day of action to end the use of electricity or something. So i guess I am not so sure this is all about Jason Lewis and protesting tax cuts.

I’m going to try to get down there, and watch the chaos from a far.

And this just came from EdWatch.

I am just dying to know if Lewis screwed the pooch, or is just getting overshadowed by the environutters.

    Agenda Journalism 101 - Environutterness

Posted by Andy on 13th April 2007

The more I get to see the behind the scenes part of the media, the more biased I think it really is. Whether it be the chit chat at the pre press conferences, to conversations with reporters, these people, some of them, let their own opinions color their coverage. The in latest salvo of agenda journalism from the largest newspaper in Minnesota, the Star Tribune, has they put down the reporting pads, and picked up the megaphone.

Earlier this week, we editorialized about the latest global-warming impact report from the International Panel on Climate Change. The report reflects the consensus view of the world’s most eminent climate scientists.

Sheesh, why don’t they just publish the script from Al Gore’s movie? Wait, don’t give them any ideas.

After subjecting global data from the past 50 years to rigorous analysis, they warned that the first effects of climate change already are being felt, that things inevitably will get worse in the short term and that catastrophic long-term damage can only be avoided if humans act now to minimize their impacts on climate.

Did these scientists bother to compare that to all of history? Did they bother to investigate the other warming periods the Earth has gone through? What’s that? Yes, the Earth has warmed and cooled in the past. I know, that is shocking to hear, given the media campaign to fool people into thinking that Earth has never ever never been this warm before. You should ask yourself why they start only 50 years ago.

Some considerable part of the response to that editorial was, frankly, strange. Cleaned up considerably and summarized, it boils down to this: It’s snowing in April and you claim the climate is warming? Scientists can’t even reliably tell us what the weather will be day after tomorrow. What kind of fools do you think we are? This is just more drivel from liberals who want to control our lives.

Yes, the people who refuse to accept that this is the end of times, or that we must completely abandon all of our industrial accomplishments, and by we, I mean the US, the Strib labels us “strange”. The Strib refuses to even look at the consequences of the goals of the environutters. They simply want the US to pay money to other under or undeveloped nations. (just think about that, let me know if a neuron fires.)

Indeed, global warming’s impact on established weather patterns increases the severity of those variations. But year in and year out, Minnesota will continue to get warmer along with the rest of the world. The human suffering that results will be enormous, especially for the world’s poorest people.

You can go read the rest yourself.

That pretty much exposes the predetermined bias the Strib has. They have received the orders, and they say this is the way it is. There is no room for dissent. There is no room for questions. Now that the global looniness movement has run the gambit of causes for Global cooling warming climate change, they have just claimed they have come to a “consensus”. I remember growing up that it was hairspray that was killing the Earth, my how times have changed.

The carbon credits are a pyramid scheme at best, and a global wealth redistribution plan at worst. The science is not conclusive, and the computers that are running the models that these freaks are relying on, can’t run backwards and even predict the past. They are flawed, and like most computers, work with in the bounds of the programming. Gee, ya think people might be pointing the computer models to come to a ‘certain’ conclusion? This entire global warming hysteria is nothing more than a gigantic wealth redistribution scheme. Oh, and the next incarnation of the anti-capitalist movement.

Just reading this one Strib Editorial, you can see the absolute disregard for real opinion and the exchange of ideas. They instantly poo poo anyone who they disagree with, or rather that disagree with their agenda. Until the newspapers begin to sign the agenda driven editorials so we know who really is writing them, the entire paper and all the reporters will continue to be considered biased and slanted. Until they admit they are liberal activists or that they are pushing an agenda with their opinion pages, the papers’ relevance will continue to decline. They are losing not only credibility, but the trust of readers, IE the populous.

Sooner or later, the center right leaders in this state will realize that they can find alternate delivery vehicles for their message. And surprise, it is the new media. The old media is dead, they killed them selves. The Center right leaders MUST learn that they do not need to play the media games, and that winning the ‘approval’ of the Strib or PiPress’ editors, is in fact a loss for them.

BREAKING NEWS EXCLUSIVE ALERT, I Did My Part Today for Al

Posted by Andy on 23rd March 2007

Continuing on my daily mission to please our inspiration and dearest supreme leader Al Gore, I went and beat the crap out of a sixth grade class.

    Global warming on trial
Sixth-graders decide that humans aren’t to blame

I read that and ran to the nearest grade school. I raced right to their 6th grade science classroom. I grabbed the nearest beaker, and what happened after that was not pretty, but those kids will never, EVER, question our beloved leader and role model Al Gore.

Saving the planet is so much easier than I thought it would be.

BREAKING NEWS EXCLUSIVE ALERT, I Did My Part Today for Al

At lunch today, I felt guilty for having accidently screwed up a few copies I was making this morning in the office, and unfortunately they were double-sided so I couldn’t use them for scratch paper.

I thought I had let Al Gore down.

But I then went out and hugged a tree and apologized for killing one of its brothers that was trying to help consume the evil carbon dioxide so many of us are exhaling which is giving the Earth that this tree calls home a fever.

I feel so much better now, and the Earth is a safer place too.

I must have Global Warming too! I do have something in common with the planet.

    Thanks Al!
