And Justice Aplikowski Shocked The World By Mouthing “Not True” During Seifert’s Campaign
Rep. Marty Seifert is probably a little upset with himself, upset over carrying too much Pawlenty water on environmental greeness over the years. But that won’t stop him from willfully suspending disbelief on the issue of Pawlenty’s Midwest Cap & Trade plan.
Hint: Seifert voted for it. He is denying that, and calling Emmer a liar.
Despicable behavior. Just despicable.
Here’s the Facts that Seifert is denying.
Here’s the Bill that Seifert voted for. Public utilities renewable energy standards This was the 20 by 30 or 25 by 25 bill. Where power producers were forced to adopt green production by a certain time and with a certain percentage.
This is the bill responsible for the millions of wasted dollars in those idle windmills, and also for those rate increases on your XCEL bill. Al Gore may even blush at this bill. It may be one of the most anti-free market bills ever passed by the Minnesota Legislature and what’s worse? Only a very small hand full of Representatives voted against it.
S. F. No. 4, A bill for an act relating to energy; establishing renewable energy standard; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 216B.1691; repealing Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 216B.169.
The bill was read for the third time and placed upon its final passage.
The question was taken on the passage of the bill and the roll was called. There were 123 yeas and 10 nays as follows:
[...]
Those who voted in the negative were:
Anderson, B.
Buesgens
Dean
DeLaForest
Emmer
Holberg
Kohls
Olson
Shimanski
Zellers
Do you notice anything there? Marty Seifert’s name is not on the list of Representatives with the courage to say no to insane policies, in fact he voted for this bill. See for yourself, Seifert voted for the bill, there’s no denying that.
It is only after he found out that being green isn’t all it is cracked up to be that he is trying to undo his vote, say the bill meant something else, but now that he is caught on the wrong side of the conservative base of his own party, he is lashing out at the people who are simply questioning his record. We must hold people accountable if we are going to regain the trust of the people, and our Governor candidate has got to be an honest person who is brave enough o make a tough decision and admit it if he made a bad one in the past.
Seifert is trying to rewrite history and say this had nothing to do with cap andftrade. But he can’t.

The Republican party of Minnesota knows Minnesota can’t afford another Governor Green jeans and Seifert realized too late Pawlenty was going down a road that led to disaster for those that dutifully did his bidding.
And what better way to avoid disaster, but to try to run another guy off the road first with lies, distortions, and flat out falsehoods.
Shame on you Marty Seifert, you are proving me right. That you are willing to say anything to smear your opponents in order to win. Shame on you.
And if you want to see just how far Seifert is willing to go, take a look at how Seifert got a former Rep to smear a bunch of Republican activist, then go on to complain about how they are trying to point out the truth about Seifert’s revisionist history. Let’s just take a glimpse at the Seifert supporter’s closing.
I’m hopeful that the overly enthusiastic Emmer supporters can stick to facts and positive facts about their own guy instead of attempting to smear a good man in Marty Seifert.
Facts? You can’t handle the facts.
I’m hopeful for a couple important things come out of this, but I will settle for one, that conservatives and Republicans can work toward avoiding committing economic suicide through misguided and fraudulent legislation cooked up by greedy and misinformed special interest groups who coerced politicians to enact. Coerced politicians who fell for the cap & trade, envirolunacy that is called global warming. That’s what I hope, that we can have elected officials who don’t see Legislation as ways of funneling money to the right constituency, but rather by whether it is based on
He can save the covert smearing and just own up to his boneheaded vote. heck, if he would just admit that he was listening to Pawlenty’s pollster telling him he had to, it would probably win some people over, but only after he admits that the bill in itself THAT HE VOTED FOR, was a huge mistake and that more then 10 House Republicans should have been voting against it. Please don’t forget that Seifert was the Republican Leader during this vote. Was this another case of the caucus not having a Caucus osition on a very liberal anti-freedom piece of legislation?
Folks, that is why Seifert and his “enthusiastic supporters” are trying to smear Emmer on this one. Seifert was dead wrong on it and this issue makes him look weak.
Folks, this isn’t the kind of guy who can united the party, this is a guy so desperate to win that he is building walls betweent he party, and all because he made a stupid mistake and vote and is too afraid to admit it.
Why?
Because he is an outstate Republican and he is probably too afraid to upset the farm vote.
Will Seifert support continued subsidies for junk science fuels and energy? Or will he marginalize critics, just like Pawlenty did.
Politicians like this just make me sick.
Oh and in case you care, the Anoka Windmill is still not working. We played a game there yesterday (Andover won 4 to 3 btw) and that big old million dollar piece of proof that this bill was all about envirolunacy was standing there still as could be.
