I Guess The Constitution Doesn’t Mean Anything To Democrats
After Obama took a sharp swipe and willfully suspended disbelief in the SOTU to attack the Supreme Court for upholding the 1st Amendment, Justice Alito quietly and calmly mouthed, “not true”. Not a Joe Wilson outburst, and far less egregious then when Democrats booed Bush, but I digress. Democrats can’t take honest criticism, let alone dissent when the truth is against them.
Now the Democrats have became unhinged. Their idol Obama was caught in a lie, they are on the wrong side of freedom provided for by our Constitution, and as usual, when a radical liberal abuses power and lies to the American people, anyone who dares to “make a scene” no matter how small, is the enemy.
Democratic Senators are racing to trash Supreme Court members, selectively of course. Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Alito are receiving the full blown intolerant wrath of the radical left. I have to wonder if their is a rule in the Senate for public statements about Supreme Court members. Because they are now saying that they lied. A bold statement.
We now have 2 branches of our Government attacking the 3rd. This is not good for the country nor the Democrats.
If the Democrats are going to hitch their “it is all Bush’s fault” wagon to his 2 Supreme Court Justices, it is going to make them look incredibly petty and completely incompetent to the American people. It will politicize any nominations Obama may have and open the flood gates for more factually accurate scrutiny of his liberal appointees. Look, Sotomayor got a free pass last time. And, on her first major vote, she didn’t disappoint, the left. Next time they throw up a racist nominee, maybe the public will get a chance to get a real good look at just what that person has been doing with their time and words.
Obama did lie in the SOTU when he attacked the Supreme Court. He said “a Century of law” but they didn’t rule n whether Corporations can donate directly to a candidate. They still can’t. They now have the ability to tell their side of the story on an issue or give a thumbs up or down to a candidate before an election.
Thus Obama did lie and of course Democrats are terrified. They don’t want the companies they demonize to be able to fight back. They want businesses that are being trashed and convicted in the court of public opinion to sit back and take it.
I caution Democrats to drop this one. They are on the wrong side of the truth, the Constitution, and all the hyperpartisan chest thumping in the world, will not put their “Change we can Believe in” back together again.
Oh and while we’re on the topic, I hope Sen. Franken’s attempt to retake away 1st Amendment rights for businesses, also includes any of his Union friends with Foreign membership or representation. To bar companies that have foreign operations, but not unions, well, that would be incredibly unfair and unDemocratic. But then again, unions already do participate and influence elections, even when it was illegal.
I don’t see the Democrats being outraged over that, heck the 5 Justices made their covert election operations legal again.
