Words To Live By
"The era of small government is over ... government has to be more proactive, more aggressive." ( Tim Pawlenty 2006)

"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

Can You Say Predicament?

Former Republican Party of Minnesota Chair Ron Carey is going to be Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s Chief of Staff starting in February,

Thoughts?

My first one is where should I go for vacation in October? I figure my volunteering on the campaign will be about as welcome as a root canal with Carey in charge for the 2010 grind. Look our shared history of dislike for each other’s work is going to be a problem.

I got the news yesterday and am still digesting it so I am not sure if it is good or bad. But I am leaning towards bad.

More later on this, maybe. But I would appreciate some thoughts from people.

Do you think this is a mistake? Could it cost her her seat?

WHAT? Bachmann’s strange comments, her associations with Ron Paul and the tea party groups, and you ask if her Chief of Staff is going to cost her the seat? Hardly! But at least you’ll have someone to pin the blame on now if she loses. congrats.

Seems to me that you are willing to give up your most excellent representative because of an old grudge on YOUR part. I would say get out there and work as if you thought it mattered and if you are told you aren’t wanted, THEN you will have a valid concern.

Seems to me that Brent is reenforcing why he’s viewed as a dumbass and that Jerry is putting words into my mouth. Another normal boring day at RF.

I never said I wouldn’t help, rather that my help might be unwelcome with a new sheriff in town.

    Here’s my outsiders opinion.

You see, thanks to a certain someone’s very hard work at trashing my reputation and misleading people about me in the past, I have to be careful with who I can help, because sometimes my involvement endangers the entire mission. And unfortunately, there were others who (also supported Bachmann ) that faced a similar covert operation or few in the past.

I just don’t understand this decision. Maybe if Carey is going to just handle the official-DC stuff, it makes sense. He is the former state party chair, and his resume will be very good on the DC side of things. But if he is going to be handling the campaign stuff here at home, yikes. I’m not the only one who helped Bachmann in the past but also had issues with Carey. I know people like to think I was a loan wolf against Carey, but I was far from alone, just one of the few who had the courage to open their mouth. I think this is a major deal that needs to be explained clearly so people don’t speculate.

My hope is that she has a campaign manager and a Chief of Staff, not someone working 50-50 like most Congresspersons do.

That Carey is going to handle the DC stuff, and that someone who has proven themself in the campaign already to head up the reelection.

And my wolf pack… it grew by one. So there… there were two of us in the wolf pack… I was alone first in the pack, and then Andy joined in later.

You are welcome in my wolf pack.

Would you please put some pants on? I feel weird having to ask you twice Jack.

That’s not what I meant Drew. But now I know for sure that I just added two guys to my wolfpack.
