Words To Live By
"The era of small government is over ... government has to be more proactive, more aggressive." ( Tim Pawlenty 2006)

"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

365 Days Late And A Trillion Dollars Short

Here’s Congresswoman Bachmann’s response to the SOTU.

“President Obama finally got the message- stop spending!  But he’s a day late and a dollar short.  Freezing non-security discretionary funding now will freeze it at the highest funding levels we’ve ever seen.  This “freeze” only applies to 12% of the budget, disregards massive new spending programs enacted in the last year and ignores mandatory funding, which is where most of the changes need to be made. The President spent more money in his first year in office than any other president in history, and simply stopping now does absolutely nothing to lower the amount of national debt that gets passed to you and me, our children and our grandchildren in the form of increased and new taxes.

“We’ve maxed out our debt limit, scared off our creditors and burdened future generations with unnecessary debt.  And the President has yet to come clean on jobs numbers, utilize our entire energy resources, or lower the cost of health care in this country.

“The bottom line is that we cannot borrow, spend and bail our way back to a growing economy.”

One Response to “365 Days Late And A Trillion Dollars Short”

  1. Charlie says:

A point last night that everyone missed: Obama said that Social Security and Veterans will not be touched by his new plan. Uh! He just eliminated the annual cost of living raise that disabled and retired veterans and social security recipients get only 30 days ago by saying there was no cost of living increase last year. Try telling that to the teachers in Minnesota, and he’s there president. This is the first time in history that the vets and social security recips. haven’t received a cost of living increase. Gasoline didn’t cost more last year. Neither did groceries, electricity, phones, natural gas, automobiles etc. Right. Sorry, no cola in 2010 for vets and retirees but your benefits won’t change in 2011. DUH. His speech was full of lies last night as he tried to woo the republicans to join hands now and be happy again with the dems. Am I the only one that noticed or does Pelosi seem to have springs in her ass. She did seem to lose the clown lipstick but she is still the most butt ugly woman I have ever seen. Joe Biden has a glass of water in front of him but Pelosi has a complete tea service in front of her. How sweet. She just about fell out of her chair trying to lean over Obamas shoulder more for the photo coverage. By the way, did anyone else get a phone call from the Emmer campaign during the SOTU speech. Kind of like having a phone bank during the super bowl. NOT!
