Rich Man’s War? – Small Minded Man’s Idea – Case Study For Term Limits
Sen. Carl Levin is not only a moron, but he’s also a commie.
Nov. 20 (Bloomberg) – Carl Levin, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said higher-income Americans should be taxed to pay for additional troops sent to Afghanistan and that NATO should provide half of the new soldiers.
An “additional income tax to the upper brackets, folks earning more than $200,000 or $250,000,” could fund more troops, Levin, a Michigan Democrat, said in an interview for Bloomberg Television’s “Political Capital With Al Hunt,” airing this weekend. White House Budget Director Peter Orszag has estimated that each additional soldier in Afghanistan could cost $1 million, for a total that could reach $40 billion if 40,000 more troops are added.
That cost, Levin said, should be paid by wealthier taxpayers. “They have done incredibly well, and I think that it’s important that we pay for it if we possibly can” instead of increasing the federal debt load, the senator said.
If commies like Levin did end up taxing the ‘rich’ to pay for their laundry list of nannystate handouts and the Afghan overseas contigency operations, by gosh they’d be taxed at over 100%. Every time Dems talk about new spending, they never forget to talk about more income confiscation of people making more then you. And some people, sop long as they don’t fall into that income bracket, support it. Unfortunately, the dirty little secret about taxing the rich is that tax increases trickle down.
Wake up folks, and throw bums like this out!
Because as soon as the rich get tired of pulling the donkey cart you’re “riding” in, guess what, they won’t pull it anymore. And since the things they are being taxed to pay for are things that can’t just be taken away from the spending ledger, YOU will end up paying their former taxes.
Man I wish we still had statesmen in office who don’t talk about trillion dollar spending increases and expansion of government – in one breath, but then losing a war unless we raise taxes on a select group of citizens, in other words, punitive taxation for a single purpose.
Levin doesn’t believe in fiscal restraint, he doesn’t support winning the war, he just wants to confiscate people’s hard earned money. Just watch, if this terrible idea becomes reality, when the Afghan operation is over, the tax increase will just be used for something else.
Carl Levin, you’re an idiot. If Iran launched nukes at Israel, would you support a response if it didn’t include a tax increase? I suppose you need to think about that.
Term limits folks. We need term limits.
