Words To Live By
"The era of small government is over ... government has to be more proactive, more aggressive." ( Tim Pawlenty 2006)

"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

Did That Really Just Happen? In America? – Update – Update

I am not a fan of anatardz. I think people who want to disrupt the daily lives of others just because they want to stand out is wrong.

But this bothers me.

SEE U.S. MILITARY SNATCH PROTESTER…

Is it real? I don’t know. Looks legit enough to say that the Anatardz didn’t stage it. And if so, I think we really should be worried about what is going on in America right now.

Posse Comitatus?

Considering the world’s best and brightest terrorists are assembled on our own soil, I think, if we’re going to have people snatched off the streets by men in uniforms who appear to not have read someone their rights, maybe we should look for people wearing robes and living in tents. You know, the people who are sending bomb making supplies into Iraq and Afghanistan to kill American troops.

If anyone hears more about this incident, please share it. I think this one may require some light being shed on it. Maybe it was another bomber. Who knows.

Update

Ed is claiming it is a hoax. Others are too. Seems to be based on the video.

But if you watch the video, there were officers with weapons drawn in this video. Anyone can get their hands on outdated fatigues. Yes, they didn’t follow dress code. But the others in the phone raise questions.

A) There is a 4th person who gets into the car on the passenger side.

B) as the car pulls away one SWAT officer waves the one anatard off, and 2 others are seen with what appear to be riffles or maybe stun weapons raised.

Are we to believe that the Anatards are impersonating officers of the law as well? There was smoke at the end of the street which looks to be like a smoke grenade or tear gas. I’m not so sure it is an elaborate ruse by a bunch of anatardz.  I suppose they could have pulled off getting a Crown Vic, 4 uniforms from Ragstock, but do these ragtag band of patchouly wearing vegans really know 4 muscle bound jocks, let along well enough to have them do this?

Is it real? I don’t know, but I don’t know if you can immediately discredit it. There are too many other things in this one.

Time will tell.

Update

From Ed’s post on Hot Air

Update IVStephen Gutowski gets confirmation from the G-20 Joint Information Center that the men clad in camouflage fatigues are police officers, and that the man was arrested for vandalism.

So Andy, does it still bother you that people will be arrested for vandalism, or are you really worried that our right to vandalize freely might be revoked in the US?

  2. Fishy Mike says:

I think Andy’s concern relates to the Posse Comitatus act, which prohibits the military from doing domestic police work. I think it’s clear that he doesn’t like anatardz as he calls them.

The military is great at making war. But they should leave the police work to the police.

  3. bmetzler says:

Yes, I realize that that Andy is concerned that Obama’s goons are out there rounding up conservatives to shut them up. But that is just as unreasonable as the last 8 years when liberals believed that Bush had his goons out there rounding up anti-war protestors.

In MN we have experience with protestors. It is pretty obvious that protestors are not peaceful, loving, pacifist bystanders. Where there are protestors, there is bound to be violence. Where there is violence, there’s bound to be people taken off the street. So we have a 34 second clip of a protester being taken off the street and his buddies getting outraged. Nothing that doesn’t happen over and over regularly at protests.

Yet Andy’s posts a story about a clip that says absolutely nothing except another protester gets taken off the street and makes a big issue that we should be “worried about what is going on in America.” Well, a 34 second clip is not a rational catalyst to get worried over.

  4. Sam says:

How dare Andy slander the good men and women of the US Military.
It is the sort of anti-military attitude that I come to expect from the left.
This attitude has no place in the Republican Party.

    Either Andy goes, or …

I will post a meaningless twitter message for 31 day.

  5. Freedom Vet says:

    Andy,

Your disrespect of the troops is despicable. Veterans like me are a hell of a lot more qualified to deal with unauthorized protesting and the snot nosed little anarchists than most of the fat cops around. We understand what it means to defend freedom and how to treat those that get in our way.

You need to apologize for the way you’ve been talking about the men who protect your freedom. Unless of course you’re too busy protesting.
