Words To Live By
"The era of small government is over ... government has to be more proactive, more aggressive." ( Tim Pawlenty 2006)

"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

I wouldn’t doubt Mark Olson throws his hat in the ring. I’m being serious here. No chance at winning, but……

  2. Ken says:

Andy, at the forum you were sitting next to a candidate the last time around, did you ask her if she had any inclination to toss the hat in the ring?

  3. Silence Dogood says:

Who is Pat Anderson? A Republican? A Libertarian? Whatever works?

It is also unclear what her true political principles really are or if she even has any, as illustrated in the article “The Real Pat Awada” that is enclosed below. As State Auditor she was endorsed by the Libertarian Party, but chose to run as a Republican in order to get elected. It is also clear that she has left-leaning tendencies, which the DFL controlled legislature is sure to love. She has a history of campaigning against elected Republican office holders and, as mayor of Eagan, she proved herself to be a tax and spend liberal. She supports the development of alternative “green” energy, a position that all of us who are environmentally conscious can agree with; however, she is fervently against oil drilling and the development of our natural resources as part of a comprehensive energy solution. To Pat Anderson, solar and wind energy are the only two options in existence. She also bragged about supporting a pro-abortion candidate, Ross Perot, instead of President George HW Bush. Is this a trustworthy person to put forward as the GOP candidate for Governor? Someone who openly backed an independent candidate as recently as 1992, bucked the voters in Eagan with “community amenities” and vehemently opposed drilling in ANWAR?

Minnesota Republicans deserve a true leader and a real conservative as our next governor. We deserve State Representative Paul Kohls, a true conservative!
