The point here is that the members of the State Central Committee, the governiing body of the party aren't able to communicate with each other. State Central isn't like your CD or BPOU where everyone knows each other and live close together. The members are far-flung across the entire state. Every member probably knows a couple others from their own district and maybe one or two others from elsewhere, but that's it, and it's a very serious problem. Evidently it's a problem certain executives want to perpetuate for their own purposes.

I am a Delegate as well. I don't think he is referring to non-Delegates getting information. I think what he is referring to is the difficulty in getting a list of who is a delegate, even to those that require it i.e. candidates. I have heard first hand the stories about the hoops needed to go through for the state party.

I think in this case it is the idea that even the delegates have no idea who each other is. (At least in a general sense, those in same BPOU obviously would.) As an example there is no way you and I would have known each other is a delegate except for us posting here. I think the overall idea, which I agree with, is the ideas that maybe the delegates should actually have a chance to discuss the different candidates with the other delegates. I could be wrong about what he is meaning, but I do not think so.

Now I'm confused. As a delegate, I have been receiving all the communications that all of the candidates have put out. Who else do you think should be privy to this private information? The DFL? Moron.Org?

The MN GOP constitution specifies that the State Central Committee governs the party. The delegates have a right to demand and receive information, and if the executives will not comply, lawsuits or removal from office are possible remedies. Removal doesn't make much sense in Ron Carey's case, but the point is the officers answer to the State Central Committee.

"The general management of the affairs of the party in the state shall be vested in the State Central Committee, subject to the control of the state convention and this constitution."

Officers are hired to carry out the will of the State Central Committee, not to control it.

At the upcoming State Central meeting, the delegates should demand access to delegate lists and any other information required to manage the operations of the party. Such a demand should be submitted in writing to the EC before the meeting for inclusion on the agenda.

I agree. Horrible idea. So let's take matters into our own hands and bypass the top. Gather the info on our own. Surely with your contacts and being a delegate myself. We get 2 delegates. And they get 2 delegates. And so ...
