Been Lying In Bed Staring At The Ceiling For About 2 Hours Now
I’m realizing I am completely irrelevant now and that the last 4+ years have been a complete waste of my time. The blog, the time at GOP meetings, the lawnsigns, the calling, the everything. All a waste. I’ve killed myself the last 4 years and now I am worthless trash that was tossed out the window that no one will notice it is gone.
It hurts, it sucks. Far more then the bitter asshats who drop anonymous comments. The fact is that the guy who also lost with me is an asshole, selfish, and has no business doing what he was doing. If people want me to really get into that, I will, but trust me, no loss at for his BPOU or the party. Now that Taxpayer’s League, well…… him not being on the State Exec……..
I realized this morning that I’ve killed myself for the last 4 years and it was all a waste, unappreciated, and in the end I was rejected. No merit, no credit, just a door smacking me in the ass as 2 colliding groups battled for control. Both of them don’t realize they are each becoming their own worst enemy. The one side doesn’t trust the other hence they battle to maintain control. The other side doesn’t trust anyone who hasn’t come with them, so they purge anyone, no matter what they have done.
The Republican party is going to be in trouble as long as these 2 factions continue to battle. One wants to maintain control, the other wants to throw people out and “take over” the party. Unfortunately it doesn’t work that way. Winning internal party battles is easy. Running the party, that’s a whole other thing. Good luck, frankly I’m glad I am not there for the arguments.
It wasn’t a clean sweep for the new kids. There are still some old guard around, and there is the new crowd. I don’t think it is going to be productive.
Wait, no one gives a crap what I say anymore. I guess this is really the end for me. I guess it was all a waste.
Oh well, as I posted last night, at least I get my life back. Too bad I wasted the last 4 years.

Andy, take the time to regather yourself, take a deep breath, field a few questions whose answer is beer. Take the time to rejuvenate yourself.
I’ll respectfully disagree with you when you say you aren’t irrelevant, though. As long as you believe in the right principles, which you do, and you’re able to explain why you believe what you believe, you aren’t irrelevant.
I know that losing elections sucks. I know that firsthand from our recent Benton County Convention. I wish nothing but the best for you Andy, as do your MOBster friends.
The one side doesn’t trust the other hence they battle to maintain control. The other side doesn’t trust anyone who hasn’t come with them, so they purge anyone, no matter what they have done.
I guess it takes being on the outside to see that. Oh well, better late then never.
Andy you yourself have made yourself irrelevant. Your scorched earth vicious attacks have finally caught up with you. You have attacked everyone from hard working grassroots activists by calling them zombies and attacking someone who is now a sitting Congresswoman.
These among other things that you have so crassly engaged in over the past 4 years are precisely the reason you were rejected yesterday, as well as being roundly rejected at your BPOU this year for a delegate or alternate slot to state central.
Actions have consequences, glad you have finally figured that out.
Many in the sixth district have dealt with you for fear of what you may do because you are so unpredictable. What you really are to them is a pebble in a shoe, eventually you take the shoe off and dump the pebble out.
Irrelevant? A waste? Never! Take gmpg’s advice and recharge your batteries. I’m glad that you’ll be on the e-campaign committee – you have so many great ideas to help BPOUs. I can’t meet at Keeg’s this Thursday, but hope to see you soon (for sure May 20). In the meantime, may this video bring you some cheer and appreciation of bulldogs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdDPLxxQgRA
Andy – I have to echo Lassie’s and Gary’s sentiments. Ignore idiots like Anono – they are haters pure and simple and they will soon fade into the woodwork as soon as things don’t go THEIR way once. Meanwhile, you can recharge and spend some quality time with the GF, maybe take a trip out west to visit friends (hint, hint) and maybe find a new direction for your energies. Don’t fret about today, concentrate on the future. God has plans for your future – roll with what happened this weekend and be ready for what lies ahead.
Trust me – you will come out in better shape than the haters will in no time at all.

Oh and I suspect that the “new kids” will bail once they find out just how hard it is to run the party. It is really easy to sit around and snipe and bitch anonymously (aimed directly at Anono) it is another thing to actually DO THE WORK REQUIRED. I have more respect for people like BMetzler who criticize a) with their name out front and b) who have tried to do the work at one time or another than I do for people like Anono who carp from the sidelines.
I am taking bets now on who shows up month after month, fundraiser and fundraiser, county fair after county fair and my money is NOT on the “new kids” like Anono.

Andy,
You should be excited.
The GOP will win every race in CD6.
All it takes to win is to replace the “establishment” with new people.
Who cares who they are, as long as they are not the current person.
You problem was that you have actually worked on a campaign – thus you are establishment.
They key to success is to have people with no experience but claim to support the correct ideology.
Or maybe, you are learning that sometimes “new” doesn’t always mean “better”.
That we might want to have people around who actually know how to win real elections, not just people who know how to complain about how bad everyone currently is.
Something you might want to keep in mind at state central.
Maybe the party is more screwed up then I thought judging by most of the comments here.
Oh yes, we just need to have another chair who is a totalitarian, yeah, that’s the ticket. ROn Carey did a fantastic job of representing the grassroots this weekend, not dictating to them.
Oh please. Why don’t you guys just go help Ron Carey pack. Oh and save the boxes, your buddies (or maybe even you) at the HQ will probably need to use them if the grassroots has anything to say about it. That is, we get rid of the cronies candidate for Chair, your guy Sutton.
Why does Tony Sutton speak to the need to improve the party? Because we need to, he just can’t explain why it is that for the last 4 years it crumbled under his nose…… And the guy who made that happen is supporting him?
Oh yes, please give me more of the same. Yes, yes, that is all we need to turn things around.
Thanks for the laughs. No really, I always enjoy anonymous cowards and asshats who are so proud of their brilliance that they have to hide their identity. If you are so right, and I am so wrong, why didn’t you put your name on anything or run yourself ?
Know that you’re not going to necessarily appreciate this post.
Tony Sutton was Deputy State Auditor for almost four years … and not an up-front insider while he was serving in that position. When he took over as RPM Secretary/Treasurer he helped clean up an accounting nightmare. He instituted modern accounting controls (and software) and got the Party back to where it would no longer face regulatory discipline/reprimand. For all the abuse that he has been subjected to, when he was the Executive Director, the Party actually worked well with the BPOU’s. I know, as I was a Senate District Chair during that time. Tony was always accessible to the BPOU leadership and provided all the assistance that he could.
It may be unfortunate (as perceived by those who are not getting all the attention which they think that they are entitled to) that the Party Organization is responsible to those who have been elected to leadership positions at the local level. They (the Party) can be put in an untenable position when everyone thinks that they should be given “equal treatment” — regardless of their place in an organization. That is not the way it works in the real world: in business; in the military; or, even in a political organization.
Certain people in the party have been throwing fellow Republicans under the bus for a while now. The tactic has been to find an issue, however insignificant, that they disagree with the party on, tag them with the dreaded “RINO” label, frame them as the Antichrist himself, and presto! One more Republican out of the way!
For a few years I have been preaching Reagan’s 90% rule, and nobody listened. Nobody wants to take that kind of abuse and turn around and work on campaigns, and that surprise no one.
You are not alone, Andy. Many of us conservatives are irrelevant, and as long as we keep kicking dirt in the face of people like our Governor, the whole party will become even more irrelevant than it is now. Farewell, “old guard”; hello, socialism!
Andy,
You really surprised me on Saturday. I remember what you did at last year’s convention and had you on a mental do-not-vote-for list. The last thing I expected to hear from you was an apology like that in front of everyone. I do believe it was a sincere apology too. I still had to vote for one of the people you tried to screw over last year. He was running for the same position and I could not abandon him. That said, it takes a real man of character to do what you did. You made it very hard for me not to vote for you. Do not be dis-heartened and please stick around. CD6 needs you.
Eric Boone
I feel your pain. 10 years and thrown on the garbage heap.
Don’t nearly always agree with you, but just winning BPOU and CD positions is not going to fix anything, nor were they trying to. Really hard work and a spirit of cooperation will. I don’t think we’re going to get it with the Takeover mentality that ran these elections. That was the only interest, not to better anything. I’ll still be here when the jobs need to get done and ther’s no interest in the current batch of people of getting them done. The Life and family issues are just too important to let them be thrown out. I’ll keep up the good fight.
LL, I don’t think Anono is a “new kid.” A lot of the “new kids” like Andy, including me, a “new kid” who’s managed to hang around and do the work for 17 years. The third guy who got in the race did so entirely on his own. Unfortunately for Andy, the “new kids” recognized Scott’s name as one of their own. As Eric said above, I’m sure it was a difficult decision for many.
Andy, hope to see you soon. Much to do to get this party back on track and winning again!
Marianne; coordinating a massive deception effort to take away National Delegate positions from the “water carriers” and give those honorary positions to folks who have done NOTHING for the party like you and yours did a year ago is not a great motivator to work in this party. Just sayin’.
Clef, I didn’t understand that national delegates are no longer elected. Of course, if you’re correct and there shouldn’t have been an election, it was a bit of a fax pas to go through with that whole voting thing. Although some wounds take time to heal, most of the liberty people have stuck with the party and have every hope of turning it back in a winning direction. If you’ve been out working for the party, surely you’ve seen them. Hopefully I’ll also see you, though I don’t recognize your name.
Don’t play stupid, Marianne. I know you definitely aren’t. You know that it’s customary to elect Nat’l Delegates who have worked hard to serve the party, not just one movement. Interesting you didn’t address the lies and deception encouraged by your movement to obtain those spots. I would have thought you could have made up some sort of lame excuse for your movements despicable actions.
Clef, have you been in the party longer than Ron Baert?
Wow. Ok, here’s a few thoughts.
To Clef – “lies and deception encouraged by your movement to obtain those spots.”
B as in B, S as in S. I was one of those, and we were totally open about who and what we were, and got almost as many crossover votes as we had of “our people”
To Andy, I am new here, so I will not make judgements on your positions, etc..
But – If you fought what you felt was the good fight, and fought hard, then to presume your efforts were unappreciated and wasted based on the results of one election (which I assume has a fraction of your reading audience) is to imply that their decision was personal & directed at you. This is narcissistic, and rather childish. You lost. Get over it and move on.
If this was true, nothing you wrote over the last few years would have had an impact on people’s thought processes. Do you think they all forgot everything when you lost a stupid election?
Yes there are two factions now, really more than that but the smaller ones seem to join the larger two blocks. This is nothing new to any party. They all change over time.
We all win and lose. If you believed in what you were doing then, then you should believe now, if your beliefs are centered around your popularity or worse, your position and power, then get out now, your mentality is dangerous.
This is not an anonymous attack, and I have nothing against you personally, as I don’t know you.
Schlickenmeyer, you are a liar! You are just like many others in your movement! I was there! I heard your people claim they were going to support McCain at the Nat’l Convention with no intention of doing so! You can look for loopholes all you want, but the fact is you deceived people! You are a liar, sir!
You know, with the wedges you have driven into this party and the number of people you have mistreated and offended, how do you expect to bring this party together and win?? You will NEVER be able to do that! Then again, you’ve NEVER cared about that, have you? You may have won this battle, but in the mean time, you’ve lost the war! You are the Socialist/Democrats best friend!
So nice of the Biers/Carey/Sutton/Brodkorb side of the party to actually be using that defense now. Pretty pathetic if you ask me since that is what they have been doing the last few years.
I’m sorry, but this whole thread is pretty much a bunch of BS being thrown around as if it matters.
The people who are employed by the GOP movement are all threatened now that their grasp on power is slipping. Brodkorb, Biers, Sutton, Carey and the likes are all at risk of needing real private sector jobs now. Like wolves backed in to a corner, now is when they are most dangerous.
And to the new people, you do still have to prove yourselves. There are not enough of your people to run the party. You still need help. Winning an internal GOP battle is not evidence of winning elections and in turn majorities so that the limited government policies most of us believe in can be implemented. You have a ton of work to do and since you now have the reigns of power, you are the new establishment and the responsibility lies at your feet.
—
Anyways, thanks to those of you who have been honest and said nice things, to those that have been lying and attacking, well, kharma is a bitch. Most of you have been complete assholes so i really don’t feel bad about what happened. And frankly since you’re faceless attackers, no one knows what the hell you’ve done that will be missed.
I’ll be fine and I am already working on how I can stay involved and help Fitzsimons out in the 6th.
How about we all stop trying to rewrite the history of the CD6 conventions and work on electing a new State Party Chair?
None of this is productive. Let’s all move on.
