Words To Live By
"The era of small government is over ... government has to be more proactive, more aggressive." ( Tim Pawlenty 2006)

"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

Dumpster Divers Fail, DC Dems Mimic Failure – PiPress Takes The Bait HL&S

That would be a headline far closer to reality, but it is the PiPress

Democratic campaign group sets up Web site targeting Michele Bachmann

St. CLOUD, Minn. — The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has created a Web site to highlight controversial statements by Representative Michele Bachmann.

It’s the committee’s latest attack on the Minnesota Republican, who was re-elected last November after creating a stir during the campaign by suggesting Barack Obama had anti-American views.

The page is called “Bachmann Watch — Michele Bachmann vs. The Truth.” It’s at www.BachmannWatch.com.

The committee, which supports Democratic candidates for Congress, calls some of her statements “lies that can quickly be disproven.”

There has been a ragtag handful of knockledragging dumpster divers doing this for years, heck, the DCCC had even been working through them.

Doesn’t the Democratic Party have more important things to do then distort the record and statements of a Republican?

Like: Economy, the economy, and let’s not forget the economy.

But then again, if they do that, they might have to look into the lies, misstatements, campaign bribes, and policy making that Democrats undertook or received that helped push the economy down the hill to recession. Rather then govern with their majorities, Democrats choose to play partisan games.

So if I start up a blog called Democrats vs the truth, do you think I’d get a story in the PiPress? Maybe we could go into Rep. Murtha or Frank and their illicit connections to people who benefitted from Legislation they passed…. oh wait, there are scores of blogs that already do this sort of thing. There’s even the major story that the Democratic Speaker of the House is lying to the American people about what she knew, and when.

Heck, sometimes we even turn our focus onto our own pork kings like Oberstar and Ellison. But that isn’t quite as satisfying to the PiPress as taking a DC Democrat press release and turning it into a story where you get to publish the words, ”lies that can quickly be disproven.”

Journalism is dead, long live activist reporting. Hook, line, and sinker!
