Is There A Lawyer In the Readership?
![]()
Get this, I got an email with a contract attached this morning. Yeah, it turns out I need to sign a contract now in order to be given a list of “State Central Delegates” so I can run for a position in CD6. Pretty stupid, “State Central Delegates” can’t vote in CD6 for our CD leadership. Obviously the lawyers at the State party are proving their worth again. A look at the Doc’s properties has the State Party Executive Director as the author. It is a big long contract, here in, where for, there to, blah blah, worthless.
But I am being offered a list from CD6. CD6 should have control of their own lists, right?
More importantly, if I don’t sign this, I won’t be granted access to the Delegates and Alternates prior to the convention. Now, I was already given a list of who should be Delegates and Alternates to CD6, but after my first mailing I have discovered that it is, like a lot of MNGOP data, terrible. Hardly any emails, and tons of returned letters for bad addresses. This new list I would be given would have been run through, Voter vault. Strike 3!!!!!
At this point, I’m not inclined to sign any contract. This is the new Gestapo movement from the party and it disgusts me that we treat our own this way.
Don’t let conservatives talk amongst themselves.
Don’t let them communicate with each other.
Divide and conquer. Dictate and control.
And God forbid they let other people know who is like minded.
And ya wonder why the party has been falling apart at the seems seams the last couple elections.
I’m not surprised, my opponent in this race is on the State Executive Committee and I am hearing that at the last meeting, it was ugly. So ugly they had it behind closed doors and no one will talk about what happened. We already know that the Party has threatened to sue some great conservatives. All because the party had “salted” a list to entrap someone in this party. Yeah, our own party “allegedly” gave someone a list that had intentional fictitious names and addresses in it so they could track who ended up using the list.
Our party intentionally gave someone a list they knew was bogus and all to set someone up for a fall.
Why in the heck is our party so damn good at trying to punish and demonize our own? Why are some people so dang skilled at destroying or setting up people in their own party? My goodness, no wonder the DFL is kicking our butts in elections, our party’s Executive Director is actually wasting time writing contracts about us not talking to each other.
That’s why I am running for State Executive Committee, because this is the crap our party is focused on. Instead of focussing on a message, or unifying the party, or correcting some fundamental flaws in our operations, we’re determined to …… well, what am I to assume? Sue our own people or seal their lips. Put on the blindfold everyone, you’re in the Republican party now baby.
Will I sign a new a correct contract if sent a new one? Right now, I’m inclined to say no. What are the people in power afraid of?
Well, I will answer that for them. Yes, yes they are afraid of me winning, because this type of crap is BullShit and I wouldn’t sit back and let this fly. We need to clean house in this party. If this is what our Executive Committee is up to, things may be far worse then I had expected.

I’m not a lawyer, but I am interested. Andy, did you send a request to CD6 leadership for a list of CD6 delegates and alternates, with no response from them, but instead an e-mail back from the *state* party asking you to sign an NDA to get the list of *state central* delegates? This seems too bizarre to comprehend, so I wanted to just clarify that is how it went down. If so, it speaks much to how they think (not well, and in very top-down terms). Seems like you need to ask CD6 again for the list that you really need. And of course the list should be controlled by them and not the state party. As I write, it occurs to me that they must have misunderstood your request as wanting to run for one of the state party officer positions, rather than as the CD6 representative on the state exec comm.
I know in CD5, where I’m from, the CD Chair serves ex-officio as our CD rep to the state exec comm. Is that not how it is in CD6? You elect separately, the CD6 Chair and the CD6 representative on the state exec comm?
Dave
What happened was:
I did already have a list from CD6, but due to some reporting errors to CD6 from BPOUs, we didn’t have complete addresses or valid addresses on some people. I was offered a chance to get a new list that was run through Voter Vault by the state party to update emails and addresses, but would have had to sign the contract to get it. That’s what I refused.
I am running for a CD6 elected position. We do elect our State Exec rep separately.
