Words To Live By
"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

DFL’s Agenda – Progressive Revenue Proposals

Why the majority party in the Minnesota Legislature, who is just 3 votes from overriding the Republican Governor’s vetoes, has to reserve honesty for behind closed doors or shadowy places, is beyond me. But that is what they are doing. Why? Becuase they have a minority agenda. Massive tax increases! But don’t take my word for it, here’s what a DFL Legislator had to say this last Saturday.

Mind you that this is the Chair of the House Tax Committee.

Not only is the first honest statement from Democrats about their agenda, it is the first they have bothered to level with any Minnesotans about just how they plan to deal with the budget deficit. The DFL toured the state and held a bunch of scripted “townhall meetings” that they purported to be listening sessions, when they were in fact campaign events. The DFL trotted out all their special interest friends to whine and moan about the evilness of any potential cuts and the dire need to raise taxes. They were simply wasting time and hiding from the truth.

They planned all along to raise taxes, but now we have them on tape.

We now have the DFL on tape promising to raise taxes on business. Oh yes, 90% of Minnesota businesses file under the personal income tax rates, so when the DFL talks about progressive tax increases, that means raising income taxes on businesses.

It is also important to note that if she is being honest, and they didn’t have the luxury of monitoring the budget last year, they don’t deserve a single dime of the per diem they collected last year or a days pay until the second budget forecast was announced.
