Words To Live By
"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

Maybe Steele Was A Mistake – 202.863.8500 – Call The RNC To Tell Em You’re With Rush

Apparently the new RNC Chairman, Michael Steele, is as tone deaf to the conservative cause as his predecessors.

In an interview on CNN with D.L. Hughley, Steele assured that he, not Limbaugh, was in charge of the party before saying that he wanted to put the right-wing talker “into context.”

“Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer,” Steele said. “Rush Limbaugh, his whole thing is entertainment. Yes it’s incendiary, yes it’s ugly.”

Steele’s comments, first noticed by NBC producer Chris Donovan, are sure to rankle Limbaugh in part because they validate the liberal critique of the conservative force: that he’s merely an “entertainer.”

That’s one of the phrases often used by Democrats who seek to diminish Limbaugh. MSNBC’s liberal talk-show host Keith Olbermann, for example, frequently mocks his broadcast adversary as “comedian Rush Limbaugh.”

Steele’s broadside comes as top-level Democrats are working to portray Limbaugh as the face of the GOP and daring anybody in the party to separate themselves from him.

This may be Steele’s downfall. If he is just another GOP suit who is going to lash out at conservatives, he is going to be no better then those who have occupied his position before and allowed the party of Reagan to crumble into what voters rejected in 2006 & 8. What this party needs is for someone who thinks, acts, and speaks like Rush to be the Chairman or God forbid, our Presidential candidate.

What we need less of is party leaders who think outspoken and passionate conservatives need to be shut up or are the real problem that needs to be dealt with.

And to respond directly to an RNC spokesman’s stupid defense of Steele’s attack:

“The feud between radio host Rush Limbaugh and Rahm Emanuel makes great political theater, but it is a sideshow to the important work going on in Washington. RNC Chairman Michael Steele and elected Republicans are focused on fighting for reform and winning elections. The Democrats’ problem is that the American people are growing skeptical of the massive government spending being pushed by Congressional leaders like Nancy Pelosi.”

First, you haven’t been winning elections and things that have been happening in DC are terrible, I wouldn’t brag about any of that effort.  And the Republican’s problem is that you [or those who you replaced] didn’t listen to people like Rush. That you didn’t listen to people like Rush when Republicans were poisoning their own chances with liberal spending and diluting their own base and worst of all losing the trust of the voters.

If Steele and the Republicans had everything under control, there would be no need for Rush Limbaugh.

I guess, as I had hoped, Steele did see Rush at CPAC, unfortunately, he just doesn’t get it. He can’t seriously be another idiot Republican who thinks we just need to hush Rush. Hopefully this is just a slip by Steele. Hopefully he was taken out of context. But let’s make sure the RNC knows who you would prefer be taken seriously on matters of the conservative movement.

Give the RNC a call, fax, or email and tell them you’re with Rush!!!!
