Honoring RINOs, Dissing True Conervatives
I have been just far too busy to mention this, but tonight, the Republican Party of Minnesota is toasting RINO Congressman Jim Ramstad in the same week they have let Congresswoman Michele Bachmann twist in the wind over a media set up.Â
Truly shameful behavior by the Party leadership. And please, trust me folks, this is not something all 3 elected leaders of the party are guilty of. Ron Carey runs this party.Â
I’m so disgusted that Ramstad, the Sierra Club candidate, is receiving praise while the principled conservative is under a left wing assault. Worse then that, Bachmann’s fellow Republicans are throwing her under the bus.Â
Oh trust me, as soon as this election is over, there will be hell to pay. And folks, I am NOT alone.

Andy, they were honoring the Rammer as he exits the stage. And they also honored Midge Dean, the indefatigable fundraiser for the Party since the 1970s. Bachmann was there too and spoke to honor both Ramstad and Dean. She got a standing 0. I am as frustrated as you are about leadership, RINOs etc. but this was one night where we could look beyond some of those things that divide us and acknowledge the contributions of these folks.
What do you mean by “let” her twist in the wind? I am pretty sure the party leadership can’t tell the media to stop picking on her. Sounds like you are talking out of your rear and just like to attack the chairman because of historical sour grapes.
Oh and by the way, Congressman Ramstad has fought hard for Republican values. That is why the grass roots activist in his district kept endorsing him. Who are you to judge them??
Like the Mental Health parity Act that will raise insurance costs?
Maybe we can talk about some of the Sierra Club initiatives…..
I urged someone who was going to have access to the mic to put out the bleg on Bachmann’s behalf since the Party is throwing her under the bus. I pray she id it.
Let me tell you, that is a huge mistake.
this deal tonight, could have been done after the election. Doing it now just puts the current leadership’s desire to please (read kiss the ass of) any Republican office holder above advancing the conservative cause.
It is bullschtukee and I had been meaning to post on this long before the prime conservative in this state was targeted for political execution.
I think this event was a fundraiser like the past Lincoln Reagan dinners. Shouldn’t the leadership try to raise money to help Republicans win?
Just a thought.
Andy, Michele gave a genuine, heartfelt speech honoring Ramstad. If she can put her differences with him aside for one night, can’t you? Like I said, I wasn’t a fan of Ramstad and I cringed at the recognition of some of his “accomplishments” but there’s no denying that he’s helped a lot of people over the years, including Bachmann to find their way in politics and in Washington and one of the most interesting things is that they did not all become Ramstads, there were a lot of conservatives he helped too. I think that says something about the guy as a person. I’m not trying to talk you out of criticizing the guy or the party, I’m just saying there’s another side to this.
