1- Ayers didn't kill Americans, NOR did he intend to.
The ONLY casualties of the Weather Underground were a few of the members THEMSELVES, who died while making a bomb.
Many, including perhaps some of the Founding Fathers of MY country (America), would say that he acted like a patriot against a tyrannical government which waged a war against an innocent population for their resources AGAINST the will of the People.
It turns out, the GOVERNMENT was Anti-American during Vietnam.

2- When ANY one of you contribute to society the way Rev Wright did, then maybe you can comment. In fact, his most "damaging" sermons were rooted in the ideas and conclusions of our best intelligence minds.
Blowback is another way of saying "America's chickens are coming home to roost", which was by the way borrowed from ANOTHER Black man who is now revered, the Rev. Marting Luther King.

3- On dissent... Unlike the troglodyte jingoistic masses that inhabit the herd that is Conservatism, who freak the fuck out at the mere suggestion that perhaps we're not doing the right thing or that perhaps we could be a better Nation to some slighted group among us, us on the Left are a bit more mature.
We don't brand those who disagree with us as "Anti-American". We may think them stupid but we don't for a second question their love of country. For a twit like Bachmann, a jesus freak who craves the Talibanization of America, to dare utter the garbage she did on Matthew's show either a severe lack of intelligence or a mental derangement. In either case, she is UNFIT for the office she holds and must be removed immediately.

Apparently, I'm not alone in this. Even in these tough economic times, thousands of us AMERICANS from across OUR country have donated $25, $50, whatever we can to her opponent, Tinklenberg.
In less than 24 hours, ActBlue has raised over $200,000.00.

I guess us America Haters are out in full force...

Anyone who defends this type of behavior should think long and hard about what kind of person they are and want to be.
If you are a christian and believe in a magical imaginary friend who lives in the sky, well, your sky hippie is on MY side in this too.

This is a beautiful example of how "anti-American" today's right wing conservatives can be. There is nothing unpatriotic about recognizing that our nation, while truly a beacon of freedom for the word, has been and continues to be imperfect. Our forefathers made terrible mistakes. Some of them were accidental, but others were rooted in ignorance and prejudice. How can we hope to avoid repeating out forefathers' mistakes if we refuse to admit they made any? How can we hope to fix the problems of the world today if we refuse to look back in history and admit our own culpability in some respects. We are a nation of freedom and a nation of opportunity, but we are far from a nation of infallibility. Unfortunately for residents of CD6 Congresswoman Bachmann is less interested in talking about how our nation can pull itself out of its current struggles and is more concerned with scaring people into voting for her and her friends. Brian Melendez is perfectly correct to condemn her "McCarthyist" commentary. We must remember that the United States' position as leaders in the world is not an inevitability and our strength must be solidified through unity and honest discussion. It is one thing to disagree on policy, it is another thing to stir up fear for political points. Minnesota and the Unites States deserves better than Congresswoman Bachmann.
