Begun The CD6 Ad Wars Have, But How Long Will They Last?
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R MN6) began running ads earlier this week, and I just caught part of an anti-Bachmann ad this morning. Guess what, they are trying to tie her to Bush. I took a quick look and could find them on YouTube.
I didn’t catch the whole thing, but it sounded like it was probably from a National group or the DCCC itself. It will be very interesting to hear what her challenger, Democrat El ‘Gas Tax’ Tinklenberg’s fundraising numbers are. So far in the campaign, he is trailing Bachmann around 7 to 1 in cash on hand.Â
If Tinklenberg didn’t have a huge quarter, he can’t run ads. He’s having so much trouble gaining any traction in the conservative 6th District that he has to pay volunteers. A lot of volunteers. Almost $100,000 a month of volunteers. That’s how he got all those signs up in so many illegal areas. (yes, he seems to think that his signs are perfectly allowable on freeway entrance ramps and on public right of ways. )
Update:
Here’s the anti-Bachmann attack ad. It’s from the liberal special interest Alliance for a Better MInnesota. One quick glance at their website’s front page will easily expose them as just another anti-Republican smear group. Better? Nope, just lowering the bar for political debate another notch. But of course, that isn’t noticed or acknowledged by the media, now is it?
Let’s not forget that Alliance for a Better MN is the same left leaning group that did the poll that showed Tinklenberg polling well behind the other Democrats in the 6th District. Gee, left wing special liberal interest group trying to smear a well  liked Republican. Oh yes, the well funded attack dogs for the Democrats are on the prowl.
