[gulp] What Clinton Said
Posted by Andy on October 3rd, 2008
This is tough, but I agree with Bill Clinton.
“I think the responsibility that the Democrats have may rest more in resisting any efforts by Republicans in the Congress or by me when I was president, to put some standards and tighten up a little on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac,” Clinton said recently.
Congress got it wrong today. Their rush to pass something and Bush’s race to sign it before the ink was dry is fishy. Blame should fall to a bi-partisan group, but Democrats do have more red ink on their hands than Republicans. Sure, ‘asleep at the switch’ may be a fine defense for the Democrats when referring to Bush.
But attempts were made to do something over the years, and it was the same pack of Democrats who wrote this abomination of a bailout now, who were always standing in the way of ANY reform of the mortgage industry, before the bottom fell out.

the country is a mess right now. between the bailout and the election, who knows which end is up anymore?! there’s this organization that wants to help those of us who don’t feel we have a voice against big government. they want our feedback, comments, opinions, concerns about what’s going on right now and how we’re being affected by things. check it out and give them your thoughts.
