FWIW: We’re A Small Business Who Didn’t Cry To Congress – AAA’s View From “Mainstreet” America
My business had a meeting with our bank earlier this week. They were safe and said we had nothing to worry about. If we needed a line of credit, it was there.Â
I’m going to be pretty bold and say that most members of Congress and the pundits are lying when they say this was a wide spread problem among small business thus they had to act. They are spinning this so the average Americans don’t let their deep down rage boil up.Â
They are trying to provide an emotional shield around the people who committed this crime against the American people today so that we think of Johnny’s plumbing or the corner drug store before we call our member of Congress and work to unseat them.Â
I was looking around all week to see what was different in America as this crisis persisted. From listening to the blowhards in Washington and pundits on TV and the news, it sounded like the sky had fallen and the coast guard was already performing search and rescue for survivors of the great financial crisis of of 2008. But I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. It was business and life as usual from my vantage point on “mainstreet America”.
I didn’t see any car dealers closed for business. I didn’t see any banks with the windows boarded and doors barred. There were still people at Home Depot and the grocery store buying goods. I’m sorry, but I just don’t think we’re getting the truth here.Â
Stay tuned, this turned into a 2 parter. The next one is philosophical.Â

If only we had voted for more Republicans in 2006 as conservatives so that those Republicans in congress warning about the problems with Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac would not have been blocked by Democrats and then forced to pass this bailout bill.
But no, we’d rather be “conservative first, Republican second” I guess.
Andy and I disagree on this issue . . . it is very stressful (pretty sure I was included in the people who were told to frack off in the post below). But we can always rely on good old Brent to unite us in frustration. Thanks dog.
no problem, always glad to help.
