What If A Democrat Said Something Racist, But The Media Decided To Attack A Republican For a Factually Accurate Comment
Since the local media is performing its usual self appointed duty of DFL attack dogs, I will repost this one in the hopes of getting some reactions on a real racist statement from a Democrat.Â
Closed Circuit To Local Media: This is one that you should follow up on with our local Democratic members of Congress, especially Keith Ellison (D MN5) who is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus.Â
ABC News’ Teddy Davis Reports: Florida Democratic Congressman Alcee Hastings pointed to Sarah Palin on Wednesday to rally Jews to Obama.
“If Sarah Palin isn’t enough of a reason for you to get over whatever your problem is with Barack Obama, then you damn well had better pay attention,†said Hastings. “Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks. So, you just think this through.â€
Does Congressman Keith Ellison and the rest of the Minnesota Democratic delegation agree that anyone with a gun who hunts doesn’t care about Jews or Blacks?Â
Of course this is a reaction to MPR’s ‘heavy lifting‘ on behalf of the anti-Republican stalkerazzi and Rep. Ellison’s attack against Rep. Bachmann.Â
A little Googling could have easily helped clear things up, but nope, as usual the mainstream media assumes if a Democrat is outraged, that of course the Republican is at fault. (emphasis mine)
Nevertheless, until recently, the CRA didn’t matter all that much. During the seventies and eighties, CRA enforcement was perfunctory. Regulators asked banks to demonstrate that they were trying to reach their entire “assessment area” by advertising in minority-oriented newspapers or by sending their executives to serve on the boards of local community groups. The Clinton administration changed this state of affairs dramatically. Ignoring the sweeping transformation of the banking industry since the CRA was passed, the Clinton Treasury Department’s 1995 regulations made getting a satisfactory CRA rating much harder. The new regulations de-emphasized subjective assessment measures in favor of strictly numerical ones. Bank examiners would use federal home-loan data, broken down by neighborhood, income group, and race, to rate banks on performance.Â
But don’t let the facts get in the way MPR, just go ahead and carry the water for the DFL and stalkerazzi. Oh and don’t forget to ignore a real racist statement from Ellison’s fellow Democrat. (In case you missed it, read the post above)
