Tough Ad, But Hold On, They Got Their Facts Wrong
Let’s start this off with a sincere thank you to the Anderson’s and gratitude for their son’s sacrifice. Now let’s watch the DSCC ad they star in.Â
Â
OK, now let’s get down to the hard hitting rebuttal that I am sure many are afraid of. The DSCC is really getting desperate, but also void of the facts. Norm Coleman was not the deciding vote in the US Senate on the use of force in Iraq. It wasn’t even close.Â
U.S. Senate Roll Call Votes 107th Congress – 2nd Session
October 11, 2002, 12:50 AM – Vote 237A joint resolution to authorize the use of United States Armed Forces against Iraq.

The Anderson’s go on to say that Norm could have stood up to Bush and prevented this war.Â
Oh, oh, oh, wait a second.Â
Norm Coleman didn’t vote to send troops into Iraq! He wasn’t even a United States Senator at the time the vote took place. Again, from the US Senate record on that vote. Minnesota had 2 votes in the negative, and Norm Coleman wasn’t there.Â

Shame on the DSCC for this ad. This ad is below the belt. Outside the bounds of reasonable debate. Obviously the Democrats are getting desperate if they have to resort to this type of misleading and dishonest ad in an attempt to win a US Senate seat.Â
HT to Polinaut which missed the ball on this one.Â
My heart goes out to any and every family that has lost someone to the defense of this nation, but it pains me to see them allow their son or daughter’s loss be twisted into below the belt political ads by Washington politicians and political advisers.
