		<description>You notice he said "our chief of police."  That's because the Mpls Parks has its own police, something I have never understood because the vast majority of Mpls parks are small neighborhood parks, which means that they are integrated within the city.  Until recently they were also under contract with the Minneapolis Public Schools to be the school cops but MPS kicked them to the curb and signed a contract with the MPD, given that drug dealing and gangbanging is probably a job for the city cops, not park cops. 

The whole city bureaucracy use of the bridge tragedy for posturing has been shameful. Rybak sent flyers to all the city block party committees promoting his office's work before all the bodies were even pulled out of the water.  And Stanek makes a video months later showing what his office did for the benefit of other government agencies and they complain that's showboating.  Ugh.</description>
