Words To Live By
"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

Mitt Out ? – Say It Ain’t Joe – Update: Also Say It Ain’t The Huckster – Another Update!!

Rumors are afoot that McCain has settled on his #2.

Here’s an interesting tidbit from Hot Air.

Update: Here’s Politico’s report claiming that the nominee will be told tomorrow. Note well: There seems to be no Saturday event on the schedule. Joementum?

From earlier in the post:

Still in the running, according to U.S. News: Hutchison (groan), Meg Whitman (groan), and … Joementum (groooooan), although NBC speculates that the timing of the rollout means Lieberman’s not the pick since it would force him to campaign on the Jewish sabbath. Exit question: If it’s true that Mitt’s out, what finished him off? Was Huck right about there being too many antagonistic soundbites floating around out there or [...]

The Huckster was on Rush’s show today and laid into Romney again. Interesting show, somewhat impressed, but then it turned into more of a Hucking for VP/beating up Romney fest. Admittedly, I didn’t hear the whole thing. Transcript here.

Anyways, we’ll know soon who McCain will pick.

MPR is on red alert with Pawlenty’s “planned” schedule. They say he said he will be doing his radio show from the Minnesota Fair again this Friday, and in the state Saturday and Sunday. No word yet if there will be a secret service watch at the Governor’s residence – ala the Biden tipoff. Lord knows there are enough secret service agents around.

Update 11:14 PM: Seems the murmuring about the RNC being braced for the unconventional is seeming like a real possibility. (Update via the original HotAir link)

Update: Bob Novak claims Lieberman tried to talk McCain out of putting him on the ticket, nowPolitico claims he did no such thing — but was asked to by none other than Karl Rove. I’ve got a baaad feeling about this.

Snatching defeat and undercutting momentum from the jaws of victory and the chance at Republican unity, like only Sen. Norm Coleman can. I pray McCain wouldn’t be THIS foolish.

Huckaphony is a liar. Home many times have we been told it is this person or that. Only McCain knows.
