  • DFLer In 51A - Interesting Family Values On Display

Posted by Andy on August 26th, 2008

Michael Brodkorb has the goods, or rather bads, about endorsed DFLer Shawn Hamilton.

According to public records obtained by Minnesota Democrats Exposed, Hamilton was previously cited by the Blaine police for smoking marijuana in a parked car.  Hamilton’s“pipe” was confiscated and taken into evidence.  Sources familiar with area were Hamilton was cited, described the location as a parking lot “overlooking the children’s playground.” Classy.

But also disturbing is that according to public records, Hamilton’s car was involved in a potential gasoline theft from a Holiday station in April of this year. Records indicate that police left a voice-message with Hamilton about the gasoline theft.  Specifics of the alleged incident, which occurred one week after Hamilton was endorsed by the DFL, could not be confirmed with management of the gas station this morning.

Other minor incidents like a one-car accident and locking his keys out of his car near the“children’s playground” described above also appear on his public record.  Multiple calls placed to Hamiltion seeking comment were not returned before this post was published.

Hamilton is the DFL candidate seeking to hold on to the open seat being vacated by one termer Scot Kranz. This may explain why a fellow Pro-Union labor candidate has entered the race as an Independent Party candidate.

I have the feeling this news will not sit well with Blaine’s strong family voters.
