Huckabee STILL Attacking Romney
Posted by Andy on August 22nd, 2008
FAILed Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee just can’t help but attack Mitt Romney.
Huckabee, on Fox News Wednesday, told host Sean Hannity that he’s hesitant about Romney “because of the shift of positions on all the issues.” Romney has changed his stance on “everything from the Reagan tax cuts to abortion to same-sex marriage,” added Huckabee, who was competed with Romney for social conservatives’ votes during the GOP presidential primaries.
If not for Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney would be the Republican candidate.
“But Tim Pawlenty,” Huckabee said, “I think, is fresh, and he doesn’t have, you know, some of those other issues. I think there are other people. I mean he could go with somebody that we haven’t even talked about. A Frank Keating from — former governor of Oklahoma.”
“you know, some of those other issues” ????????????
Gee Mike, what is it? Supporting massive tax increases? Maybe taking away freedoms because you don’t like what some people do with it? Or were you just hanging that religion thing out there for people to think about. Afterall, it isn’t like you haven’t gone there before.
Once again, let me remind people of this just in case Huckabee is going to get rewarded by John McCain for sticking in the race through the South to knock Romney out.

The Times reported Huckabee’s comments this way: “I asked Huckabee, who describes himself as the only Republican candidate with a degree in theology, if he considered Mormonism a cult or a religion. ‘I think it’s a religion,’ he said. ‘I really don’t know much about it.’
“I was about to jot down this piece of boilerplate when Huckabee surprised me with a question of his own: ‘Don’t Mormons,’ he asked in an innocent voice, ‘believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?”‘
A spokeswoman for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kim Farah, said Huckabee’s question is usually raised by those who wish to smear the Mormon faith rather than clarify doctrine. She said Mormons believe God is the father of all. (Source: MSNBC)
I hope McCain realizes that his momentum of late is because of his embracing conservative economic and free market energy issues. The Republican base is warming up to him, now that he is warming up to our issues and using his role as the defacto spokesman for the conservative movement to push them. That was a major worry early on for people like me.
Romney would be a fantastic Vice President. He has probably forgotten more about business and economic issues than the other VP contenders even know. He just may be the perfect balance to a McCain ticket. (Myself excluded)

“Massive tax increases?
1) the tax increases were a) in response to a Supreme Court order to spend more on education, b) to renovate an obsolete and dilapidated highway system (by the way, with Huckabee’s accountability measures, both highways and schools improved from the bottom 10% to the top 10% in the country), and to improve public parks and game lands.
And, it’s funny when candidate A finishes ahead of candidate B in critical primaries, both fail to win, and candidate B’s followers say he would have won but for candidate A.
