Here’s a nice try at making affairs OK from WCCO.Â
I’m sorry, I have never liked John Edwards. He’s always seemed like a slickster and a trickster. But now that we now know for sure that he cheated on his wife, it makes it even easier.Â
Any man or woman that cheats on their spouse is a low life. Especially those that run around pretending that ‘they are the one and only’. Let’s not forget that his wife is dying of cancer. That became an issue last year during the Democratic primary battle. Elizabeth Edwards announced she was terminal with cancer and John Edwards decided to keep running. He said she’d want him to keep running.Â
Well, I guess we now know why John would leave his wife to run for President. His heart was not fully committed to her. Oh I know that for the sake of his future in politics and liberal activism the story is ‘John is forgiven’, but I think this will, well should be if the media would let the American public make up their own minds, a major example of why John Edwards is a hypocrite and phony.Â
He runs around the country playing the whole ‘Two Americas’ game. Well, it turns out there are two Americas. One where men are fully committed and devoted to their wives, especially when they are suffering from terminal cancer. And then their is the one that Edwards lives in where he just needed a little loving.Â
A man that would cheat on his wife is a low life scumwad. I don’t care the circumstances. Real men don’t cheat. It is a sign of character flaw and weakness that men or women cannot remain loyal to those they love. People who cannot say “no” have no business running this country. The moral decay in this country can be pointed back to the intentional destruction on the family.Â
If the Democrats continue to allow Edwards to remain a party leader, and don’t shun him into the shadows, it speaks volumes for how little family values means to that party.Â
I am just waiting for Edwards to take the stand in his own defense and say that he was channeling Bill Clinton the entire time he was having sex with a woman that wasn’t his wife.Â

I may be giving scumbags a bad name by saying Edwards is one.
Yes, McCain is scum for cheating on his first wife and even getting a marriage certificate before he was divorced from her. Even though she faithfully waited for his return from Vietnam and welcomed him back despite his physical handicaps, he could not stomach the injuries she sustained in a car accident and started running around with multiple women.
His anti-woman stance continues to today, when a well-known fact is that he called his wife the c-word in the presence of three other people.
He is not fit to serve as President, and I am glad this Web site is standing against him and supporting the only faithful husband that is a major party candidate, Barack Obama.

The marriage license for John and Cindy was taken out before the divorce was final; the wedding took place after it was final.

McCain did not sue his wife for divorce until Feb. 19, 1980, and he wrote in his court petition that he and his wife had “cohabited” until Jan. 7 of that year — or for the first nine months of his relationship with Hensley.
Although McCain suggested in his autobiography that months passed between his divorce and remarriage, the divorce was granted April 2, 1980, and he wed Hensley in a private ceremony five weeks later. McCain obtained an Arizona marriage license on March 6, 1980, while still legally married to his first wife.”

John Edwards was wrong and let many people down (including myself). I am certainly not defending John Edwards or trying to excuse his hubris in running for President with this in his closet, but by the same logic the passage of time does not excuse McCain’s own behavior.

If you are going to have a “standard” apply it to both sides. Given McCain’s documented behavior, this subject should be an untouchable for conservatives.
