Words To Live By
"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

Cabin Before & After

While scanning through the photo archives I came across this “before” photo of the cabin.

img_0050

And here is one from a couple weeks back which is a good “after” to show how much I have done up there.

The grass has since been seeded and wood chips have been put behind the wall. I hope to steal a few hours this coming weekend to go water the grass seed. I’ll take a new pic then.

I still have a lot of work to do and I can’t wait til next Summer when I can head up there and do it. That is, if I make through this election.

It looks like a great job, and one I can appreciate. We lost a cabin 3 years ago, bunch of kids, too much time on their hands, lets start a fire, etc. Beautiful place, 2 stories, pine forest, lake nearby… We’re still working on it, though its mostly done. The fire at least took care of the resident snakes and mice, so we only have to deal with inexperienced newcomers. One thing that is really a big downer…not being able to go barefoot. We’re still finding glass from the windows. Fortunately for us, the local township volunteer fire department was having its monthly meeting when they got the 911 call from a nearby cabin owner. 3 trucks in backwoods PA in 10 minutes saved us from a pile of ashes.
