Words To Live By
"The era of small government is over ... government has to be more proactive, more aggressive." ( Tim Pawlenty 2006)

"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

Yesterday Your Taxes Went Up Thanks To

But don’t worry, Jim ‘The DFL Enabler’ Abeler feels good about himself cause he voted his conscience.

Rep. Jim Abeler, R-Anoka, was asked last month if he planned to run for reelection.

“I think I don’t have much choice,” he told the Star Tribune. “A few of us have become poster children for doing what you believe is right and surviving.”

Well, if he believes funneling even more of our hard earned money out of our pockets in these dire economic times and making us pay more at the pump I guess the guy is simply just another tax and spend liberal politician. They are a dime a dozen at the state Capital. You can’t turn the corner down there with out crossing paths with a politician who thinks they need more of your money to feel good about themselves.

“It’s all about freedom and conscience,” Abeler said last month. “Are we free to have a conscience and vote the way we believe?”

You’re free to do what ever you want, but your conscience is going to cost Minnesotans billions of dollars and provide next to nothing in return. You’re part of the problem that has led to the transportation problems in Minnesota.

The blind devotion to “transit” over roads is why we sit in congestion. It is why roads and bridges are underfunded. You robbed from the highway fund to pay for choo choos. And what’s worse, you made it so we, the citizens of this state, didn’t have the right to approve a tax increase on us.

That’s taxation with out representation. You, Mr. Abeler, are just another taxpayer abusing liberal scumwad. No seriously. You run around saying it was your conscience, but in reality it was the real you. You are a tax and spend liberal. Oh sure, maybe you get a few votes correct, but if this is your defining moment and the vote you hang your hat on, you are absolutely no better than the DFLers that pollute the halls of our government.

You’re a disgrace of a Republican. Oh and you didn’t vote your conscience to spite just Pawlenty, your conscience is forcing millions of Minnesotans to pay so you feel good about yourself.

I hope you lose. No seriously, I hope you and the other 7 (remember 2 Senators also voted to override) get your butts tossed to the curb. Every time I buy something in Anoka and the other Metro counties, I will remember why it costs me more. When I put that already expensive fuel in my truck, I will remember why it costs me more now. When all the burdensome fees that I have no choice to pay (ahem, taxes) I will remember you.

I hope this November I can read the election results and say Good bye and good riddance Jim, you good for nothing tax and spend piece of…….

And to think that if we hadn’t voted to give the DFL majority in 2006, this probably wouldn’t have happened. But we did, and now we reap what we sow. It doesn’t feel so good now does it?

Unfortunately, I don’t think that conservatives are going to learn their lesson this year either, so we probably have at least 2 more years to look forward to more tax increases.

But boy, will we feel good about ourselves, because we taught those evil Republicans a lesson. Take that you evil Republicans!
