Worthless Walz – No We Can’t Drill
Washington talking point alert issued. Please watch for focus group tested rhetoric that has zero chance of lowering fuel prices in the vicinity of Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District. The source of this disturbance is none other than Democrat Rep. Tim Walz.Â
He has an Op Ed in the Worthington Daily Globe that is the perfect example of how worthless Democrats in Washington really are. The piece is on Energy, but is simply the summary of the last 2 years of Democrat’s controlling Congress.Â
Blame business. Mandate switching to wind, solar, and bio-fuels…. you know, the special interests that own Democrats and far too many Republicans these days. We’ve spent years trying to “break our adiction to foreign oil”, which has done nothing but made us more dependent on it.Â
Democrats Walz and liberal Republicans actually think we can just switch to non-oil based fuels overnight. Meanwhile all of us taxpayers who have vehicles that need oil based fuels, will be paying higher prices at the pump.Â
The last 3 paragraphs are all that you really need to read to understand how Walz and Democrats won’t produce one more drop of oil and energy.Â
But more remains to be done. We need to be honest about our situation: America can’t drill our way out of this energy crisis, so we need to change our priorities and use American ingenuity to develop affordable new fuels.
Even while reaping record profits, the major oil companies are still receiving billions of dollars annually in subsidies from the taxpayers. I think we should shift that money into research and development of new energy sources, but so far, we’ve been unable to overcome the opposition of President Bush and his allies in Congress.
Real solutions to our energy crisis won’t be found by simply giving Big Oil access to more taxpayer-owned land. We can start by going after the price-fixers, energy market speculators, price-gougers and others who are driving oil prices higher. And we can start by sending a simple message to Big Oil: It’s time to use it or lose it.
Fact Check alert!
There already is a use it or lose it clause on this leases.Â
We have 2 different ways to deal with this energy crisis.
We can do what Tim Walz and Washington liberals want, which is nothing to reduce our dependency on brutal thugs and dictators who use oil prices as a weapon. Democrats are standing in the way of increased oil exploration and refining. Â Their plan keeps you and I paying high prices at the pump and pass meaningless legislation.Â
The other option is to vote for someone who can actually go to Washington and solve problems, not just regurgitate talking points from Pelosi’s office. That’d be Brian Davis who has a much different idea of how to help out the American taxpayers.Â

Even if drilling for US oil doesn’t drop prices a penny (just the announcement of drilling will drop them a lot), and even if we can’t get the oil for ten years (we can have some of it in 3 and we’ll always need oil), and even if we mess up some small piece of the environment (it would be exceedingly small, much smaller than just one tanker spill, and exceedingly unlikely), it just doesn’t make sense NOT to drill for our own resources. It’s like buying $10 hamburger from Argentina (if they were a rogue nation) while we’ve got a freezer full of porterhouse steak.
NO We Can’t…
Democrats up and down the ticket have all echoed the talking point (taken directly from the TOP of the ticket) “We can’t drill our way out of this oil crisis”. With that comment in mind I would like to ask a question. If we can’t fix the current……
