Remembering Minnesota’s 1st

Looking for a good way to celebrate the 4th of July? Why not start the holiday off by remembering those who have made this country possible.
Sphere: Related ContentThe Stillwater Guard Civil War Reenactors will hold a grave rededication ceremony for Color Corporal John Densmore at Fairview Cemetery in Stillwater on Wednesday July 2, 2008 at 6 p.m.
Corporal Densmore was wounded five times during the famed “Charge of the 1st Minnesota” at Gettysburg on July 2, 1863. The rededication ceremony is held to commemorate the 145th anniversary of Densmore’s participation in that battle. He died July 5, 1879.

Participants will be lining up at 5:30 p.m. the cemetery’s main entrance, and marching to the gravesite at 5:55 p.m.
