That’s how much I spent fueling up my truck yesterday. I’m still hopping mad and a certain Senator had better watch out for the rant i am working on.
But first I have to go work my butt off in order to pay my fuel bill. But at least Norm gets to be proud of reducing our dependence on foreign oil. Too bad he doesn’t know we have a domestic supply we could tap.Â
Two hundred thirty-six dollars and forty-four cents. At the gas station.Â
Stay tuned…..Â

Andy, Sen. Coleman doesn’t support drilling in ANWR but supports offshore drilling as well as supporting opening up federal lands like in the Mountain West.
For the record, I still strongly disagree with Sen. Coleman on ANWR & I vehemently disagree with him about Cap & Tax but I agree with him on increasing oil exploration elsewhere.
I spent $12.71 to fill up my tank for the miles I drove last week. But go ahead, prove to me that Franken will support tapping our domestic supply of oil. Then I will vote for him instead of Senator Coleman.
I just heard that about Coleman’s positions, and dang! I agree with him. Not that I think we shouldn’t drill in ANWR, we should, I’ve been there and there is no “environment” to be harmed and almost no possible way to harm it if there was, using modern techniques. But the oil in the Gulf of Mexico that CHINA is already drilling is going to be cheaper, and there’s more of it, apparently.
As for Cap and Trade, I haven’t heard the “explanation” of the Senator’s position, but then he hasn’t heard mine, either. Since the bill failed to make cloture and is probably dead for the year, I’ll withhold judgement for the moment.
Prove to me that Coleman is going to introduce legislation to lower the price of energy. Sure, he says he supports it now, it is election time afterall and we conservatives are pissed at him and got slighted at our chance to hold him accountable.
No seriously. Prove it Norm!!!!!
He’s had 6 years. What has he done yet on this? Has he, but just kept it quiet so the “moderate voters” wouldn’t notice?
How many more years will it take for us to get a Republican in the Senate with a pair of conservative cajones to walk in look the Sierra Club in the eye and tell them to F off?
We have Diesel pushing $5 and gas over $4 because Republicans have been giving in to the left. They have doubled in 1 single year. That’s right. Doubled. And I would absolutely love to be able to point and see, look what you get when you put Democrats in charge. But instead I end up being chastised by you 3 because Norm happens to be caught up as collateral damage.
Maybe the 3 of you are perfectly happy with having a (R)epublican who is not quite as bad as the Democrat, but I believe it is that very attitude that has gotten our country into the expensive energy mess we are in today.
I’M PISSED AS HELL THAT WE HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME FOR LIBERAL POLICIES RISKING OUR ECONOMIC FUTURE BUT A FEW SPINELESS REPUBLICANS WHO ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT GETTING REELECTED THAN THEY ARE ABOUT DOING WHAT IS RIGHT AND BEST FOR THE LONG TERM FUTURE OF THIS COUNTRY SO THEY VOTED WITH THE LEFTISTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Read that and tell me why I should look forward to this guy doing something in Washington to lower energy prices. He’s on his knees trying to …. satisfy the environmental lobby and voters.
So go ahead and continue to defend the (R)epublicans and their stated support and lack of real action.
I am not going to sit back anymore and watch the Democrats destroy this nation with (R)epublican help.
I’m not going to be satisfied as a conservative activist because the (R) is better than the (D) and releases a few talking points around election time.
I demand results and actions. Keeping Al Franken out of office is not going to lower my energy prices, and I hate to break it to you, but it won’t lower yours either.
Put down the Koolaid and start demanding results from Norm. It is about damn time we conservatives do so. That is the only way to get him to actually do what you say he supports…. or opposes…. depending on the polls.
We have Diesel pushing $5 and gas over $4 because Republicans have been giving in to the left.
How’s replacing moderate Republicans with Liberal Democrats going to reduce the cost of gasoline? Gas skyrocketed after Democrats won majority in congress in 2006. The first thing we need to do is to replace liberal Democrats with some solid moderate Republicans. Once the GOP has a majority in Congress again we can work on getting more conservatives on Congress.
How is defending moderate Republicans who side with liberal Democrats going to produce a conservative outcome?
How is defending moderate Republicans who side with liberal Democrats going to produce a conservative outcome?
You can’t have conservative leadership without a GOP majority in Congress, and a lot of liberals are elected because they are from states where conservatives could never be elected. Instead of having a solid minority of conservatives, how about a coherent majority that includes all the conservatives that you get elected *plus* enough moderates who will be GOP to reach that 51 seats in the Senate? That makes sense to me. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. I would think you could understand that.
I understand the frustration with Coleman and his energy stances.
What I do not understand is why none of you mention the huge need to print currency to fund this war and huge increases in domestic spending (under Ws reign). Some of the policies supported on this blog(policing the world, homeland security) have contributed to huge increases in costs for not only energy, but also most other commodities.
Can we spell P-O-V-E-R-T-Y for the average working stiff? Well it is to support the empire, so for most of you that is a good cause. Maybe if we invade Iran prices will go down????????????
We’re not printing money JUST for Iraq. We print money for each and every pet project of the blowhards in Washington. I don’t see Ron paul on the list of lawmakers who have sworn off earmarks.
http://www.house.gov/hensarling/rsc/sworn-off.shtml
And we just printed $150 billion dollars ‘to stimulate’ the economy, passed a $300 billion pork, er farm bill chalk full of subsidies to farmers when prices are at record highs. A billion here, a few hundred there.
You can try to claim the defense of this nation and our way of life is bankrupting this country all you want, BUT we’re bankrupting it domestically. Try railing on some of that for a bit. There’s $3.1+ trillion to pick through.
ANDY,
I did not just say for Iraq only, but included domestic spending as well. Slow down and read what people write before you jump to conclusions.
You are right about printing money for pet projects etc. Like prescription drug benefit for seniors. How many billion dollar commitment is this Bush creation? Do I need to post what your Republicans have done with domestic spending? Do you want to compare Paul’s votes with any of your pro-war, pro-state politicians?
Start being consistent. You do not believe in limited government, if you did you wouldn’t be espousing a police state at home and a world police force abroad.
You like big government just as much as the left does, you just like a different flavor.
So maybe you should stop whining about the results of too much government. Look in the mirror, your positions are part of the problem.
Speaking of jumping to conclusions……….
Me a BiG Government Republican. Go ask Carey, Pawlenty, Coleman, and the powerbrokers of this party about that one.
Have a nice life.
Andy,
Carey, Pawlenty, Coleman and Republican powerbrokers, that is who you judge your limited government credentials against? Hate to break this to you, your positions on defense and civil liberties are much more in line with Stalin and not Jefferson.
