  • Dear John, #1

Posted by Andy on May 27th, 2008

Got an email a few minutes ago from JohN McCain’s campaign. I didn’t make it past the first paragraph. (Or the tittle:   Act Now to Stop a Democrat Takeover)

    Dear Andrew,

Our Party needs to pull together, and we need to do it now.

Never in memory have the Democrats, liberal special interests groups, labor unions and unregulated “527″ soft-money groups come together with so much money and so much determination toward one purpose:Defeating Republicans.

    Sir,

You have made a career out of “working across the isle with Democrats”. On major issues when we needed a united party to defend the Constitution and conservative principles, you walked away from us.

So now that you need us, the conservative Republicans, I find it hypocritical for you now play on the notion of stopping the Democrats from defeating Republicans. Frankly I find it amazing that you won the nomination. Lord knows that there were better choices for us conservatives in this race.

That being said, you’re going to have to do more than just send us emails begging us to give you money to get you elected. We don’t trust you. Sure, we’re stuck with you, but we don’t have to like it.

Rather than run around pandering to the Democrats and advocating liberal freedom squashing policies like global warming, why don’t you come and see us, listen to us, find out what makes us tick and what YOU have to do in order for us to help you.

The choice is yours. You can continue to ignore us, take us for granted, and assume we are you campaign’s limitless ATM. But we’re not going to take it anymore. We are going out and finding solid conservatives who we not only agree with, but who don’t take us for granted. We’re going to help them get elected because they haven’t worked against our interests and issues in the past.

We are pulling together and circling the wagons around the last remaining true conservatives in office, and those running for office to defeat liberals. We’re not lemmings. We have functioning brain stems.

If you want to see a united party, I suggest you quit trying to make the party in your less than strict conservative image and join us for a change

    Sincerely,

    Andy Aplikowski

PS: Let’s just say you do win, keep in mind, I will be old enough to run in 2012. I’d like to take this chance to announce my intention to explore a run for President in 2012.

(I preemptively numbered this post assuming it will be one of many fisking John McCain emails.)

I might be mistaken but I’m pretty sure that Democrats, liberal special interests groups, labor unions and unregulated “527″ soft-money groups do come together for one reason.

You may not like who Republicans chose to represent them in the White House, but I have no doubt that Democrats, liberal special interests groups, labor unions and unregulated “527″ soft-money groups will do everything in their power to defeat him.

“Aplikowski 2012″ … now that’s a scary thought!! All kidding aside, why don’t you wait until 2016, when you can challenge Vice President Pawlenty for the endorsement?

      Hey Andy,

Glad hear you guys made it through the storms OK.

Just wanted briefly respond to your post over on True North regarding Francis Bellamy.

Given that Francis Bellamy was a self-declared, hard-core utopian socialist of nationalist variety, it is extremely unlikely that he would be “shedding a tear for what this nation is becoming”.

Much more likely, he would be standing on a chair cheering at the top of his lungs in favor of the socialist/statist police state the the US is fast becoming. And he would almost certainly be joyfully casting a vote for either the Red Queen or the Articulate Negro (or, to a somewhat lessor extent, Sen. Juan McRINO) as they surely will all expand the Leviathan state.

Bellamy is often credited with creating the original fascist “straight arm” salute (in either “palm up” or “palm down” form) which was commonly used in the US in conjunction with the Pledge of Allegiance between approximately 1900-1940:

In fact, in the link you provided (”Three years later, the disputed West Virginia flag salute law came again before the court.”)it was primarily the P of A “straight arm” salute, not necessarily the P of A itself which was the subject of the 1943 West Virginia case specifically referenced:

      WEST VIRGINIA STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION v. BARNETTE, 319 U.S. 624 (1943)

“The Board of Education on January 9, 1942, adopted a resolution containing recitals taken largely from the Court’s Gobitis opinion and ordering that the salute to the flag become ‘a regular part of the program of activities in the public schools,’ that all teachers and pupils ’shall be required to participate in the salute honoring the Nation represented by the Flag; provided, however, that refusal to salute the Flag be regarded as an Act of insubordination, and shall be dealt with accordingly.’ 2 [319 U.S. 624, 627] The resolution originally required the ‘commonly accepted salute to the Flag’ which it defined.Objections to the salute as ‘being too much like Hitler’s’ were raised by the Parent and Teachers Association, the Boy and Girl Scouts [319 U.S. 624, 628]”

Of course the flag salute began to rapidly fall out of favor in the US after the Nazis begin using it.

He and his cousin (Edward Bellamy, also a fanatical socialist)did much to inculcate American youth with the notions of the “Cult of the State”:

      KB,
Thanks for the article on the Pledge of Allegiance. Wow, the NAZI salute tells a lot. A few years ago I quit saying the pledge for religious reasons. I will now be able to not say it for political reasons as well.
Here is the that link again for those objective enough to consider it. For those of you indoctrinated beyond repair please do not read.
