This issue is not Liberalism vs. conservatism, these are losing battles.

The battle is between Stateisum vs. Freedom. The brutal reality is at this point in history both the dems and Repubs believe that there is no area of life that they should not control. Yes each has is area’s it focus’s on but in the end the results are the same. They both believe that the STATE is sovereign over all of mans affairs. Hence the bipartisan cooperation we are constantly wringing our hands over .

Andy you say we need to get back to conservative principles, I challenge you, what are they based on? If they are just based on the way you feel or think, they have no foundations.

The constitution was a document created to LIMIT the power of the STATE while maintaining the individual’s liberty. Without the individuals liberty we have tyranny, I don’t care how good your intentions are. So as the Republicans have eroded away our liberty in the last decade the base has abandoned them.

It is time to look beyond this election. I have been saying for along time that we have lost the ability to think generationally so all we worry about is the immediate results. The time is now to sit back and evaluate what is the long term affect of supporting these clowns year after year with out holding them accountable for their actions.

Amen to that B.
We should have two documents.
A Platform with maybe 5 items such as:
1. Keep people from being killed by someone else
3. Stop Government waste

Ok, Maybe just two.

Then no more of this, no one can agree 100% with the platform.

Then we can have a second document called:
Good Ideas people want to talk about but not everyone agrees on, but hopefully most of us agree.
