Words To Live By
"The era of small government is over ... government has to be more proactive, more aggressive." ( Tim Pawlenty 2006)

"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

AAA Out – I’m Heading To DC To See His Holiness

I’m heading on vacation for a few days in Washington DC with my girlfriend. I was invited to be at the Pope’s greeting at the White House on Wednesday so it was a trip I couldn’t refuse. (Big thanks to the peeps who made this happen)

I will be missing the Tax Cut Coalition Rally this Saturday at the Capital, but not by choice. it sounds like it is going to be a great event and YOU WILL BE THERE! You can find more info here.

Anyways, yes the trip. We’re heading out very early Saturday and will be there til late Wednesday night. this is my first trip there, so we’ll be seeing the usual places, not to mention being on the Southlawn of the White House for the Pope greeting. We’ll even be getting a tour of the Capital and even have a few minutes of time with a member of the Minnesota Congressional delegation.

I will be doing what I can to post while out there, but I have orders to leave the crap behind. (inside story) I did just try to get my blog fixed so I could do photos, but it was no luck and I really don’t want to pay a tech person to fix it. I’ll have to figure out what I want to do on that, but I can fall back to the ftp style of uploading them, but it is a HUGE pain to do that for blogging.

Anyways, posting will be what it is for the next few days. Tomorrow is going to be crazy having to get some loose ends tied up at work. I have to pack. And the dogs are going to ‘camp’. We’ve decided we feel better saying the dogs won’t be going to the kennel by calling it camp. I just couldn’t find anyone to watch them for me when I am gone.

Anyways, have a good Tax Cut Rally and next week. I know I will.

(AAA’s Note: I’ll be taking my first commercial airline flight in something like 16+ years. I’m terrified I’ll get strip searched and have some big dude named Ben Dover as my ’security agent’. Wish me luck.)

Gads… you have this place guarded better than the Chinese did with the Great Wall–I have to do a new password every time I log in–you’re right–wordpress sucks…

Now, back to my original question–how did you get a gig lined up to meet the Pope?

If only it protected itself from my upgrading. Grrrr

I know people. More on that later.

PS – if anybody has any good restaurant suggestions . . . . now would be the time to let us know!

I’ve been there a lot on my own and usually hit Cafe Asia and the Old Ebbitt as well as Sequoia and Nick and Tony’s. But other suggestions would be appreciated!

[AAA passed out on the keyboard after he had an aneurism totaling up how much this trip is going to cost.]

  6. Andy says:

    Timberlodge?

  7. spurringirl says:

No! There will be no eating at chains for dinner! Time to expand those horizons a bit.

  8. Andy says:

Hey, I bought my first set of luggage today. (big sale at Kohls everyone!)

So long as they have Jack and chairs I think I’ll be ok. …… I hope.

  9. Linus says:

I’d suggest a room for you two, but you obviously already have that taken care of.
