  • AAA 4 National Delegate #2 ??????

Posted by Andy on April 9th, 2008

OK, so I have the Paul people pissed at me. I have the party establishment people pissed at me.

So should I take the advice some are giving and run for National Delegate at the State Convention? Frankly I ain’t got a shot in hell and there is no one willing to put me on their slate.

Or is there room for another slate? Of conservatives with out ties to one party extreme or the other? (yes that was a very odd thing for me to type right there.)

    1. J. Ewing Says:

I only know of one slate, and that’s the Ron Paul slate. Everybody else seems to want to make it on their own merits. I say, if you want it badly enough, go for it. What’s the worst that can happen?

    2. SavageRepublican Says:

Being part of slate is not a requirement for winning.
I was elected a Delegate-Alternate at the last convention despite not being on the slate.
I owe it part to my fashion sense, my knowledge of rules/constitution (something that would have helped at the CD6 convention) and my conservative standing.

The one problem you will have Andy is a long record that can used against you.

I am surprised no one has beat you about the head with this:
“In other words I remember how I said I would never vote for him for President especially when he was stabbing my party in the back.
My soul is not for sale at this time.
Anyways, I just don’t think that McCain can win this party. He can’t win me. He has done too much damage to it in my opinion. Core conservative principles matter a heck of a lot to me. I am an absolute conservative, and unwilling to waiver at this time.
      Accountability matters”

And there is nothing wrong with extremes - Good and Evil are extremes, Justice and Crime are extremes, Republicanism and Federalism are extremes.

I think the problem people had with McCain is he was not at one extreme or the other.
And the problem with Ron Paul is he is trying to be at two extremes at the same time.

I would hate to think that you now view yourself as a moderate.
As they say (and no Jim Hightower was not the first) “The only thing in the middle of the road are stripes and dead armadillos.”
