From The INBOX: A RINO Is A RINO, No Matter The Degree

Well you may have heard about the 6th District Convention and the shenanigans that the Paulbotz pulled. (more on that later) This email came in from someone who was also there.
Following the convention, I was pondering if the mis-statements and omissions by the 2 people elected as delegates and the 3 alternates are similar to how we view many of the people that they might refer to as RINO’s. These people simply didn’t fully disclose who they are and what they stand for when they ran in our election. I hear now the talk about deception, fraud, hijacking the convention and even lying about who they support and what they truly believe. On the one hand I see that we have those that don’t agree with the Republican Party Platform that lean toward the DFL (the ones you, I and others openly refer to as RINO’s) and on the other we have those that lean toward the Libertarian (shouldn’t these be labeled the same?).
It is an interesting question, just how much do the Libertarian and Republican platforms have in common, but it may be off topic on the subject of Ron Paul and his candidacy for President.
Ron Paul’s foreign policy is straight out of the fringe left liberal playbook. Well, maybe not left. The political spectrum is a circle, not a flat graph. The further to “the right” you go, the closer you get on policy, to the fringe left, and as far as possible you can from “moderates, centrists, and independents”
I’m a bit busy here at work with some things, so feel free to discuss in the mean time. Also here’s a fun little test you could take to see where you come down on the spectrum.
My results are after the jump. And again, I’ll have more on this later.
ACCORDING TO YOUR ANSWERS,
The political group that
agrees with you most is…
CONSERVATIVE
CONSERVATIVES tend to favor economic freedom, but frequently support laws to restrict personal behavior that violates “traditional values.” They oppose excessive government control of business, while endorsing government action to defend morality and the traditional family structure. Conservatives usually support a strong military, oppose bureaucracy and high taxes, favor a free-market economy, and endorse strong law enforcement.
The RED DOT on the Chart shows where you fit on the political map.
Your PERSONAL issues Score is 40%.
Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 90%.
(Please note: Scores falling on the Centrist border are counted as Centrist.)
You can see how tweaking an answer here and there can swing you one way or another.

I notice that some 33% of people who take the test come up “libertarian.” I think it is not a particularly objective test.

My personal was 70%. My economic 90%, putting me on the conservative side of the libertarian box. Something I knew all along.
On economic and personal liberty issues I tend to be more conservative and/or more anti-government than most of the “platform republicans” I know (e.g. there are a lot of solid platform conservatives who don’t feel we should repeal the income tax). On issues such as censorship, RF ID cards, safety regulations, I tend to be more small “l” liberal / libertarian than most.
