First is your resistance to ANY tax increases EVER. Don't get me wrong, I'm NOT advocating tax increases right now especially since the government started digging deeper into our pockets on April 1, but the truth is that RONALD REAGAN RAISED TAXES! In 1982 alone, he signed into law not one but two major tax increases. The Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act raised taxes by $37.5 billion per year and the Highway Revenue Act raised the gasoline tax by another $3.3 billion. He also signed into law an increase in the Social Security tax rate in 1983, and the Deficit Reduction Act of 1984 increased taxes yet again. Granted, he was generally opposed to tax increases, but he used a common sense approach that included tax increases when logical and needed. However, the biggest reason I find you drawing the similarity to yourself and Reagan so interesting is how you constantly break Reagan's 11th Commandment. "Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican" was an ideal that Reagan strove to live by. Can you honestly say the same? I think not. I also don't think I need to bring up his "80% rule", do I? There is no doubt, the way you and others have treated many good Republican elected officials lately is most certainly NOT the treatment they would have received from Ronald Reagan!
