As promised earlier, here’s the role call vote for the House on the Bonding Bill. 90 - 42

Seven (7) Republicans* voted for the bonding bill. Gottwalt, Howes, Lanning, Nornes, Tingelstad, Urdahl, Westrom.

Two (2) Democrats voted against the binding bill. Jaros & Olson

One (1) Republican and one (1) Democrat did not vote. Magnus & Junke

Will the seven (7) Republicans get back into party line on an override?

Ninety (90) are needed if the Governor does veto the entire bill. Now we know that the Democrats will get their 3 votes back. They don’t tolerate any moderation from their party line. That puts the vote at 93 to 40 and would override. That means we need four (4) Republicans back on our side to sustain.

Republicans need to shore up their caucus on this one should we get to an override vote. As of yet, I haven’t found any news on Pawlenty’s intention on the bill. It is $100 million more than he said he would support. Since it is crammed with pork, I hope he does veto. The bill should focus on roads and bridges, that is after all why they raised the gas tax isn’t it? To pay the bonds for roads and bridges? (please correct me if I am wrong.)

So, let’s hope for a veto, then we need to get on the horn to the eight (8) Republicans listed below.

I thought Gottwalt was Gary Gross’s adopted representative. I’d like to hear what he has to say about his AR voting for this pig of a bill. Looks like non of us can count on any of these clowns to do the right thing.

I saw a St. Clouder last night and asked him about it. There was an earmark for the area in it, so Gottwalt….. well, you know the rest.
