Think again! Twila Brase from the Citens’ Council Health Care has the details.
“Single-Seller” Minnesota Health Insurance Exchange Proposed!
Secret Deal made???
TOMORROW & THURSDAY - Legislative Hearings on the Health Insurance Exchange (times listed below)!
We have been informed that a secret health care deal has been made between Governor Pawlenty and Senator Linda Berglin (D-Mpls, leading socialized medicine proponent, and author of the 1992 MN HealthRight bill that put managed care in charge). We have also been informed that this deal includes Governor Pawlenty’s controversial Minnesota Health Insurance Exchange proposal that CCHC successfully defeated last year.
The Exchange — a Single-Seller-System to centralize and ration health care — is already in the bills: Senator Berglin’s and Rep. Tom Huntley’s identical bills include the MN Health Insurance Exchange. Senate File 3099 will be heard tomorrow (Wed), and House File 3199 will be heard this Thursday. The proposal would build a single government-established bureaucracy over all things related to the sale and purchase of health insurance…eventually including access to medical care.

More on Kathy Tinglestad.
IT WAS NOT JUST “ONE VOTE,” KATHY TINGELSTAD
Now that the chants have started that “it was just one vote!” (no doubt aided by liberals and the liberal media) who want to protect their new BFF Kathy Tingelstad, a reminder to 49B Republicans that it was not just one vote.
it was a 27% score on the 2007 Taxpayers League Scorecard
it was ignoring Party platform by voting for the Twins Stadium
it was ignoring Party platform by voting for Northstar
it is her being way to cozy with the most despised Democrats in the House
it was co-authoring leftist darling Rep. Melissa Hortman’s bills at a rate of 12 of 40 in 2007-2008 and 8 of 27 in 2005-2006 and publicly praising the same leftist darling to the media last April:
Another Republican who speaks well of Hortman, Rep. Kathy Tingelstad, R-Andover, views the second-termer as fitting her district.
“I think she’ll be a legislator as long as she wants to be a legislator,” said Tingelstad. (HometownSource 4/23/07)
Hortman’s district (47B) was featured on the front page of the Pioneer Press Sunday edition before election day last year as one of the top five races to decide control of the Minnesota House, but to Tingelstad it’s a slam dunk forever for her DFL friend.
When Horman’s Republican opponent Andrew Reinhardt e-mailed Tingelstad and asked her how his family and campaign committee should take the remarks, and if the HRCC was foolish for considering this to be a targeted district, he received no response.
No Kathy, it’s not just one vote. You can run for office again, but not as a Republican!
The time is now for this party to stand for something. Kathy the tax increaser must go.

The 6 House (R)epublicans who voted to override th Governor’s veto and thus raise taxes $7 billion in Minnesota won’t have to wait until their BPOU convention to feel the heat for their betrayal. I am told Minority Leader Marty Seifert has begun taking administrative action against them.
I am trying to get the details of all the conventions for these 6 House (R)s together so people know what to do. I have gotten an incredible amount of requests and calls about what people can do. frankly I am tired of answering my phone. I’ll get it up asap.

One of the 8 Republicans who voted for the $7 billion tax increase yesterday is facing his…. BPOU this Friday evening. Rep. Rod Hamilton’s endorsing convention is going to be:
Friday Feb 29 at 7:00 PM
Methodist Church
974 6th Street, Windom
There will be high level Republican Party Officials there to encourage the BPOU not to endorse. It seems that this transit tax veto battle rekindled the grassroots memories and conservative principles.
And to that I say, BOUT TIME!

So we got our taxes raised higher than ever in the history of our State yesterday. The State of Minnesota had already been collecting more money (they call it revenue or a funding source) than ever before, before they raised taxes. They will be offering more tax increases as well as more new spending by the billions.
So will this be the chance for tax and spend liberal Democrats to disprove their theory that if there is just more money, everything will be alright?
Hey, look at it this way, gas, owning a vehicle, buying a vehicle, and buying just plain anything will be more expensive. This HAS to be what sacrifice is all about. I mean it isn’t like we’re all struggling already with high energy and consumer goods costs. But at least we’ll be building trains all over the state and metro, and more importantly all those poor contractors will have work. Of course we’ll all be going poor trying to fund all this SHIT. And yes it is shit. This wasn’t a transportation bill, this was a DFL payback scheme. We will not be getting $7 billion in new roads. The only return on our investment will be ….. everything will be more expensive.
(R)epublican Rep. Peterson said that we “would thank him in the morning”.

I guess I am not quite ready to.

Here’s what squishy liberal REpublicans and Democrats can claimn as an accomplishment today:
$7 Billion in new taxes!!!!!!!!
Yep, that’s right Minnesotans, just when you thought it was safe to spend your own money again, it is time for massive tax increases!
Tax increases are not exactly something in the mainstream or in the priority list of most Minnesotans. Have fun with that one.
What lost today, besides Gov. Pawlenty and lim ited Government conservatives?
A: Democrats wanting to run on the slogan of MN being Mississippi.
Yeah since we’re going to be top-5 or higher in taxes, now they have to perform. And oh boy are we going to highlight how for some reason when more money is taken less service and accountability is given.
G’night folks. I’m going to go out and start stocking up and bracing for my move to Cheeseland.

Yep, 2 Republicans sided with the Dems on the $7 billion tax increase even though they didn’t have to. The screen changed faster than I could see if Frederickson or Dilles were the flakers.

The Senate is about to take up the Veto Override too. It is going to pass barring a brave Democrat crossing party lines and joining Republicans to sustain. I would be absolutely amazed if the 22 Republicans hold together.
Emails and text messages are saying Sen. Frederickson and Steve Dille are to be watched.
Again it doesn’t matter, but any Republican Senator who votes to override should be held accountable as well. And probably more since they don’t even have to vote for the override for it to pass.
