DFLers Gone Wild! - 2008
Posted by Andy on February 28th, 2008
The Legislative session is turning into a long drawn out dream sequence for liberal socialist DFLers. They have already passed the largest tax increase in MN history; a Constitutional Amendment to fund the arts; and today they will start firing people based on lies.
Today the Senate DFLers will refuse to appoint one of Pawlenty’s Commissioners. Sen. Steve Murphy has had a long hate affair with Carol Molnau. He’s loathed her since she took office, and today he will abuse his power and tell her, ‘You’re Fired’.
Democrats with the help of Liberal Republicans are turning the 2008 MN House election map into a target rich opportunity for the Republicans. The DFL is pretty much just going through their Party platform page by page. Bi-partisan my arse!
Up yet this session from DFLers? Government run health care, a 4th income tax rate, more municipal and higher ed welfare.
Give the DFL power, and it goes straight to their head, but not before it rummages through your wallet.

And yet we still have people like Jason Lewis who again last night said that he’d vote for a DFL candidate over an “imperfect” Republican. Thanks Jason! I’ll think about you every time I pay those increase gas and sales taxes.
Don’t give the DFL power. Don’t!

Actually Brent, you need to thank you favorite (R) Kathy TInglestad her buddies who overrode the veto of that $7 billion gas tax.
Had they not felt the need to be liberal on the issue, your taxes wouldn’t have gone up. Every single DFLer in the House could have voted for the increase, but they needed Republicans to get across the finish line.

Non-sense. The people in her district chose to send her back to the house to represent them as a train and transit supporter term and term.
It’s the people who ousted incumbents like Krinkie that I need to thank. If we had a larger GOP majority, last week would have never happened.
Don’t get rid of all the fiscal conservatives, and then get upset when the train supporters are in the majority.
If I do like Jason suggests and vote for the DFL over my “Abeler,” it’ll just mean that DFLers can increase taxes without needing Republicans. I don’t see what advantage that has.

That’s why conservatives were knocked out! Look at page 2. If you don’t understand the power of the leftist election machine, you are not worth even debating.
They dumped money into District to knock the conservatives out. Seriously, Brent, you can bitch and moan all day how us evil conservatives are solely to blame for the 2006 ass whooping the GOP got, but it is not the whole truth. Sure some stayed home and didn’t “work” like normal, but that is because of liberals like Abler and Tinglestad. Because Pawlenty went left on some issues. Etc etc. But I’m willing to bet a lot of them still showed up to vote on election day. We got the 40% that most people claim s how many Republicans are in MN. To me that pretty much signifies that our voters did show up.
The problem was teh left had this giant machine, well a few of them that had paid people running around lying about conservatives and they got the swing vote last time. We were outgunned and understaffed in the fight.
I know right now you’re yelling “see see! It is those damn dirty conservatives, it is their fault!” But you’re wrong.
What the DFL can do by paying people, we need to do through inspiration and motivation. We lost control of the MN House by a mere 7200 votes statewide.

Now, you can sit there and wave your finger. You can sit there and defend Liberal Republicans. But if you continue to do so, don’t be surprised if you see the repeated results. If the GOP continues to be the home for liberal thoughts and ideas, it will continue its decline.
My point all along is that the party has got to stand for the principles, whether a Liberal Republican gets caught in the crossfire in it or not. The party as a whole does not have to avoid an issue just because one of their own is on the wrong side. That’s why conservatives are pissed. That’s why this party is going into the tank. That group used to be our machine that worked, but moderates have watered down the message to the point that the party is worthless to some.
Regarding voting for a Dem: They betrayed the Republican party on Monday. You may not realize that but they did. I don’t care how many times they were endorsed. Asking for and receiving that (R) behind their name is just like putting on a uniform.
If this were war, they’d never have made it to a court martial.

I do not support Molnau’s removal:

“”the largest tax increase in MN history”"
Can you tell me what the new 2nd largest tax increase was and how much? No one seems to have the answer to that question.

Big newsflash Andy. They are going to dump TONS of money into campaigns again this year to knock more conservatives out.
I’m not sure what that has to do with endorsing moderate Republicans though.
Even if we didn’t endorse any moderate Republicans this year, they’d still be dumping money into the few incumbent conservative districts that remain.
