Big Day For Conservatism – Get Out Of The Crease!
As I noted in previous posts, BPOU conventions start today. And now with the ink on the Governor’s veto stamp now dry, conservative activists have some serious work to do and decisions to make. Will they endorse (R)s before they cast their override votes? Will they endorse (R)s who voted for the abomination that is teh Transit tax bill?
Pawlenty did the right thing in vetoing, but frankly it isn’t exactly like that makes him the messiah or the goaltender. I believe he should have been playing offense on the bill, not waiting in the crease. Don’t get me wrong, I think it is great he vetoed it. I just wish he would use his bully pulpit to help the (R)s in the House and Senate. They have to go through heck to do this stuff.
It is also quite heart warming that the MNGOP leadership has finally awakened to the Legislative activity. They were making calls and polling in critical Districts. They have been helping local BPOU’s such as SD49 where Tinglestad is facing a showdown for endorsement this morning. As I understand it, there is no challenger to her now, but they should have the votes needed to table endorsement.
I have my convention this morning where we will endorse one of 2 great conservative candidates. Both of whom have signed the Veto Protection Pledge. (Yes, we know, but they don’t have the No New taxes Pledge anymore)
It is a big day for conservatism, first we need to get the liberal puck out of our zone, then we go on offense.
We need to
I’ll try to follow the happening around the state, especially in SD49. If you attend one and have any info, please let me know.
