Lobbyist Tinklenberg’s Plan – $1.6 Trillion Tax Increase!
Lobbyist and 6th CD Democratic candidate El Tinklenberg has an op ed in the Pi Press today on what he would do to help the economy. He is whining about the Stimulus package, but offers something far worse than $168 billion in federal debt…. It can be summed up pretty simply, tax increases, lots of them and really big ones.
He speaks in such pretty platitudes and points out problems, but he really only offers one real solution. More jobs, but at the taxpayer’s expense. And that is a nice admission on his part, that is that jobs are a pretty good indicator for the economy, but it is the kind of jobs that Tinklenberg demands, that will cost Americans a lot!
He wants to spend $1.6 tillion dollars in the next 5 years on infrastructure like roads and bridges, but also on choo choo trains. So let’s get this straight, he wants the Federal Budget to increase by half in 5 years? And that is just the increases in transportation. Is he planning on offering cuts in other programs to offset the increase in federal spending, that he claims will spur the economy? Oh course not, he’s a Democrat, pork and entitlements are his gravy train.
What is just plain sad is that Democrats like Tinklenberg thinks federal revenue grows on trees. Tinklenberg has become a very successful lobbyist. He has made quite a name for himself helping to secure state and federal dollars for municipal welfare all over Minnesota. Hiawatha, Northstar, and the entire lightrail phenomena are kinda his little baby. He is basically on the payroll for many counties, cities, and townships across Minnesota to help them get other taxpayers to fund their pet projects.
And gosh darn it now Tinklenberg wants to go to Washington to be the prince of pork for his clients er constituents.
The king of pork is of course Tinklenberg’s friend and fellow Democrat Rep. Jim Oberstar (D MN8)
Yes, it is easy for an unelected lobbyist to pen op eds and propose massive tax and spending increases, but it is pretty hard to have the courage to try to get elected with out promising pork barrel spending and union jobs.
